hey kyods, just so you know, lynch has said he doesn't like his themes distributed by other people. i don't know if this applies to saf.. as its from safari and has some aquarius2000 elements, but you might want to check with him. I'm sure he'll get back to you fast since you put the work in.
he also is actively searching for people to update his themes, some i'm sure he'll appreciate that you've done it.
just a heads up.
I´m anxious to put my hand on "Saf9"... but i agree that we should wait for some response from Lynch before it... i guess he will be happy to know that someone had the theme uptdated, but he deserves to know before.
Just my 2 cent's worth - I've updated Saf8 too - but obviously for personal use only! There are several threads in the skins forum about how to do this - pretty easy!
Hopefully Lynchie will give permission - I can even email him my updated version for him to host (Lynch, if you' reading this lemme know!):
Cheers All!

If someone that has updated the theme can send it to me, I will post it ASAP.
Hope to hear from someone soon !!!
hi, i was having problems with the theme installation, but everything solved with a new clean installation... thanks anyway... and I recomend to install from scratch to those who have problems installing themes/extensions.
OK - I've emailed Lynchie my updated Saf8...it's up to him if/when he gets around to making any updated version available.
To all you guys & girls wanting a lovely Safari theme for your 0.9 (and hey, who doesn't!!) you have only these options:
1) Wait (politely and patiently) until one of the skinners releases an update
2) Make your own - either from scratch (lots of work!) or mod your own (plenty of intructions on this forum as to how)
3) By a mac and get the 'Real Deal'.
Whatever you do, please don't post or request unauthorised mods!
Regards,
CJW

Thanks. Nevermind then. It's not a mod or anything, it's just a quick fix to make it work in 0.9 and not blow its managers, and it was done at Unbeliever's special request. I didn't take any credit in the .rdfs since all the work belongs to lynch and only to him.
Updating a theme (without any manager mods) - as you know for yourself - is a quick and simple work, so if lynch wishes, I might update all of his themes to 0.9 in no time. And there's no need for several versions of the same fix, so if sultanofswing has already asked lynch for permission, I'm standing back.
Don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I have not been able to work for 2 days since my new browser has not been right...
The modified pinstripe works fine, except that I would want to have the brushed texture of the windows title area (yes, that stuff that comes from brushed panther theme) to cover the menu and toolbar as well. Thats how the old version worked for me, and thats how Lynchie's GFxOasis is working with me.
I have been running trough toolbar.css and removing the bitmaps and background colors from toolbar-area, but all I'm able to produce is white bg (or for example red if I specifically define it so).
Any quickies on how to get that texture on the toolbars (w/o copying the bitmap in to the jar - there should be easier way, but I have not figured it out by looking the GFxOasis .css's)

I might be wrong, but you need the background texture in the jar, and then you set it in the global\global.css.
Hi guys!
I've used pinstripe converted theme for 0.9, added the images and css code of pinstripeXP, which has the nice blue focus effect and works perfectly but the favicon that appears at the left of the url address bar appears stretched.
Do you know where in browser.css should I modify to fix it?
Thanks and GROAR!!

I'd go for /* ::::: page proxy icon ::::: */ section.

are you saying you want toolbars skinned by the vs?
i think that has something to do with setting image=none or maybe mozappearance=0 (or none) [i can't remember exactly] for that specific aspect. There should be something about if you just google for firefox tips (to find the non moz.org personal tip sites). basically your looking to alter .css not image.
or open up one of lynch's icon only themes and look for the relevant code for the toolbar backgrounds. its definitely something to do with preventing firefox from skinning them (you've just reduced it to ff 'skinning' with a specified colour).
haven't done it for awhile, so can't remember specifics.

I tried to figure out the relevant difference before, but got frustrated. Thanks for the engouragement I finally managed to change it (not that I would be sure what change finally hit it ![]()
If I had to guess, it would be changing toolboxes "-moz-appearance: toolabr !important" to "-moz-appearance: toolbox !important"
Thanks!
The new Pinestripe is working great! I'm really liking it. One thing bugs me though: if a fav icon is partially transperant and is not completely square, the graphics that makes it grey when not active makes a gray rectangle around the whole icon area... any way to fix this? Actually, I would like to remove that grey thing completely if possible.
I don't really want the skin, but I can host it for you guys...
email whatever you guys are talking about to
ilovebeing [a.t] gmail [d.ot] com
and I will post a link shortly!

I'm having this problem too... if you guys have any solutions, would definitely appreciate it!
One more thing - not sure if this is the right place for it but, I tried installing the latest version of tab browser extensions, and everything seems to work great, except that the throbber that i used to have on each tab doesn't show up anymore! does anyone else have the same problem and how can we fix it?
Thanks!
No idea about the icon issue.
If you want the throbber on the tabs, you need to add following code into your \profile_directory\chrome\userChrome.css (create one if there's no such file):
.tabbrowser-tabs *|tab[busy="true"] .tab-icon {
list-style-image: url("chrome://communicator/skin/icons/loading.gif") !important;
}
anyone know where compact.jar is 0.9? i cant find it in chrome.
