Yes indeed, Quicktime or iTunes. The iTunes we have now is no longer in development, or at least to my knowledge. It still needs much improving.
QuickTime would be excellent because believe it or not the QuickTime for windows sucks. It looks nothing like the QuickTime for OS X. The Mac Quicktime is by far more beautiful and nice to look at!
Either one of these would be a very worthy project to work on.

I can understand iTunes, but Quicktime? What's wrong with the windows version? It already looks like a Brushed OS X app and the functionality is probably the same for windows and mac. I think it was a joke? 
edit: sorry, didn't read your post completely, I see your issues with the windows version. Maybe it's possible to hack the buttons so it looks better? The player is pretty good in my opinion.

Possibly. But its not just the buttons. I think it would be very hard to hack Quicktime also. Lets see what these developers can come up with.
There is no point in developing a new QuickTime if it's just for looks. Like iPhoto, now that actually serves a purpose. But how many of us use QuickTime other than viewing .mov files? Plus, it's bound to be buggy and not as good as the QuickTime we already have anyway, even if it does look better. Develop something like iCal, iTunes, or iMovie, something that we would actually use and that would be useful. It makes absolutely no sense to program another QuickTime just so it will look better. Logic people, come on.

You obviously dont understand the logic behind OS X. Half the motivation and inspiration behind OS X, was making it beautiful and nice to look at so people could enjoy they're computing experience, as well as make it user-friendly and functional.
The QuickTime application Apple created for Windows does not correspond to what they did with OS X. Why should they give Windows users the same beautiful application os x users get? They shouldn't, and they didnt.
They purposely made quicktime for windows far more ugly and less appealing than the one for os x. If we are trying to achieve this os x look, going with the windows version is not going to cut it. At least not for me.
Looks and visual appeal and intuitivness is what OS X is about. If you dont care about that stuff, then you certainly shouldn't care about os x.
Just like Microsoft Office for Mac and Windows. Microsoft understood the importance to create a different icon set for Mac users, which is much much better than the one in Windows version.
Quicktime for Windows though, had to cope with another problem... the missing menu bar. Quicktime for Macs looks like a real-life gadget. The Windows version though, had to include the menu, something that doesn't appear in real-life devices.
Apart from that, trying to create a clone of Quicktime for Windows seems far too much to me.

Guys, dont forget, the Mac preview Application is very comprhensive!! There is a lot more to it than you may think. There are many toolbar buttons within the preview which can edit the image such as rotate, crop, brightness, etc.
Actually, believe it or not, the Preview app has all of the editing functions iPhoto does!! Thats a lot of stuff to incorporate.
Also you can change the which toolbar items you would like. There is a drop down menu (actually it doesn't drop down, it genie effects down, well you would have to see it) that allows you to pick and choose each item you want in your toolbar. Kind of like the Mac finder and the system preferences app.
Its really pretty neat and intuitive. I would love to see it done! On top of all of that, it just looks nice!!
I'm not interested in those dock switchers, but thats just my opinion!
How about a simple program to show the System Tray!! I need this to go with the dock. This shouldnt be too hard.

No, but I guess it shouldn't be too hard.
What my program does is:
- shut down mobydock
- copy the appropriate items.ini
- restart mobydock
Must be easy to make it work with other docks, too, but I've only used mobydock.
Just try porting Osx to an x86 system. Shouldn't take you long...

i was under the impression they already *had* ported it, but were just not releasing it. it has that silly name, too.
oh, and according to HardOCP.com we shouldn't be surprised to see AMD 64-bit processors in Macs by the end of the year. soo... yeah.
I think that even though Apple will make OSX run on an x86 machine, it will still keep a closed-computing system, so don't get your hopes up too high. Maybe they'll lower prices some more though 
Alilim. how abiyt a simple organiuser program-like ical, but simp;ller-with a Aqua anmd iAPPS interface. Also a Aqua-dock for Wain98 be good? I have made one myself-it'so, but if you'd doone,yours may be better-it's my fiorst atmempt at a dock.
Alilim, how about a clone of the OSX program Sherlock? I knew that at one stage, there was a Aqua find file program-but's no longer updated. Or maybe a Aqua paint program? How about a Aqua style projects/ideas/events organiser?
