Screensaver?

Sometimes use Aquarium 2.0 if I'm in that kinda mood. Usually just run the monitor off.

let me just ask, when was the last time you saw an image burned on to a screen on a desktop monitor...  it doesn't happen anymore really, i don't even know why they bundle them in windows anymore.  just set the monitor to turn off after x minutes, save the energy too.

actually it does happen. 2 or 3 crt at my fathers work burned in. one is almost unusable because of the burn in. they are all around 4 years old, although the burn in started to appear like 1 year ago...

There really is no point to having a screensaver now that monitors turn off by themself, but I still use a screensaver for the password feature.

Fluid. Sometimes I just watch it because it is *really* therapeutic!

I grabbed the original Mac OS X wallpaper, "Cosmos, Beach, Abstract, and Forest," from: www.mischahof.com/convertx/ and compiled them into separate screensavers today using ProShow Gold 2.0 with the Ken Burns effect plug-ins - Pan, Zoom, Rotate. They came out real nice. I was walking around the electronic store today and say a Mac with a screen saver and said, "I have to make my own!!!"

I use flurry screensaver.

And maybe all of you people that have your monitor turn off after 5-10 minutes maybe should consider not doing that because it minimizes the monitors life. Turning something off and on all the time is not good.

Just turn off the monitor or Laptop screen.

vertigo: share the love! I want to see that sucker... :D gnomexp-at-gmail-dot-com

I use Flurry after 5 Minutes and shut the monitor off after 30. On my other computer, Flurry doesn't work so I use WinXP default (same times).

I used to use Flurry but despite the fact that I have a pretty decent graphics card, it would use ~100% CPU and the fans on my laptop would be loud as anything. Pretty much defeated the purpose of a screensave for me... it was making my computer as active (CPU-load and heatwise) as if I was playing Half-life 2.

These look nice though I agree with a previous commenter about the fasterish speed.
