I´ve got a 17" monitor. And it works amazing on 1600x1200... 75hz... the things looks a little small... but i got plenty of space for using Photoshop and Illustrator. Do you think i´m crazy or something?? Because, everybody that i told this, call me nuts.
[ot] Do You Think I´m Crazy?
You are not crazy, you have good vision
I think you have a good monitor that'll let you use 1600x1200 ![]()

It´s a LG Flatron F700P. It´s reach 1600x1200 flicker free (75hz), what is incredible for a 17inch monitor. Really great monitor... sharp image and everythin else. Everytime i have to use less than this (on job, in a Samsung) everything just looked so crumpled on the screen. Photoshop and Illustrator... al those tabs clustered over the workspace.
how far is your face from the screen...
I don´t have a ruler here by now, but, an armlenght from the monitor... i can strech my arm and the point of my fingers touch the screen.
EDIT: I admite that, sometimes, surfing on the net is tiring because of small fonts... but, just a CNTRL+ + and everything resolved. Besides that... working on Photoshop and Illustrator is amazing with this resolution.
I use 1280x1024 resolution on my 15 inch laptop. Works perfect me and gives me lots of space for everything.
So your definately not crazy. ![]()
I think Timan is almost blind lol 1024x768 is way to damn big for a 17 inch monitor but for a 19 inch monitor.
I use 1440 X 900 on my 17"
I just keep going to up and up on my scale.
My eyes get used to the size, so I upsize it lol.
but I've maxed out the res on the laptop. ![]()
im 1600x1200 on a 17" and I wish it would go higher but it wont.. ![]()

How do you get a funky resolution like that?

I guess you use this as your bank password too??
i have a 17" monitor too and most of the time it's in 1600x1200. it's funny cause when i'm switching back to 1280 everything looks huge to me until i get used to it again.

you're not crazy, you are just a blind person in the works :smartass:

That´s exactaly how i feel on the job... everything looking BIIIIIG!!!
I'm stucked on 1024x768, because if I put 1152x864 (my favorite res for 17'' monitor) the resolution falls to a maximum of 85Hz -monitor limited-). And my eyes are sensible or maybe I'm used to the no-flickering of 100 Hz on 1024
BTW, first post... Hi to everyone ![]()

My 17" IBM P76 will do 1600x1200 @75Hz easily. And it's black too ![]()
man anything runnign 75 herz will ruin your eyes, all my 21 inch monitors always run 1600x1200 but i would never dream of running 1600x1200 on a 17 inch monitor...ur asking for bad vision later ![]()

I used to be able to do that...now I am stuck with 1280x1024 since my old monitor got a huge scratch right down the middle of it.
