Ot The Funniest Post I Found In 4 Years.

Yeah, I completly agree with Videomann, he got the words out before I could come up with them. How long did it take you to write that essay?

Your right, were probobly not changing anyones opinion here.

Pot does influence your decisions just like alcohol. You've never heard of someone doing something stupid when they were stoned?

I think im done here though, ive got to get to the important stuff, like Macs. :D

I was out for the weekend.

Videomann, Michael114, contrasutra, when I read the post in it's original thread it made me laugh. Enough so that I saved it on my hard drive.

Videomann, although (knowing who I am), I do not feel obliged to defend myself against any derogatory views you may hold of me personally based on what you have written,

>The story that got posted speaks more of where you are in these issues than the actual story.

I would like you to know that I was born in '77 and am Dutch, soft-drugs are legal in my country, I will not say that I have never smoked marijuana before, yes I smoked when I was young. But I discovered that I do not like it!

Yes it may surprise you but some young people actually don't like drugs. Living (currently) in The Netherlands, I know the final occasion when I "smoked a joint" was when I was 16, over 10 years ago. Being a cigarette smoker, I don't like drugs.

I went to university in London, England and have had cocaine offered to be on numerous occasions, all of which I refused. (I did not need to discover what it was like, because I could see what it did to people around me. I am also (personally) against chemical drugs. Extacy can be found very frequently, and I have had it offered to me on many more occasions than I can remember. I do not know what it is like.

Videomann, the post when I read it was funny, infact it got me in hysterics, and NO not the part about him using drugs.

I didn't even notice it included (the first time I read it ) anything about drugs.

What cracked me up was how stupid a man can become when he hasn't slept for 9 days. The fact that he bought a 4500 dollar bed at the end of it, and the late arrival of the fire department: "the fire department came to watch the roof cave in".

It surprises me how different people really are on both sides of the Atlantic. As soon as something contains a reference to drugs, it is assumed to be something that tries to look cool.

Each to their own, but I didn't even notice the drug-view of that post. I just read an account of what happened to some poor bum who hadn't slept for a week.

Anyhow to cut this short:

I have removed the post because I have seen that the majority of replies seem to indicate that it sounds (a very American), "yeah drugs are cool man", sophomoric fratertiny kiddies bull****.

A view that is not as strong (and would probably not be insinuated) elsewhere.

I do not want children frequenting this board to become influenced, and have removed it.

But I am really pissed with comments that paint me with the "yeah drugs are cool man", sophomoric fratertiny kiddies bull****.

I am now 26 have had very difficult and harrow9ing experiences in my life, one when I was working as a journalist in London on a terrorist siege of an embassy in Holland Park.

Wanting a better shot I entered the sterile area (park) at night managing to sneak up (I did not see them, they did not hear me) on a fully armed and twitchy British special air service (SAS) anti terrorist team. Who obviously assumed I was a suicide bomber. Being arrested by the full brute force of and staring down the live barrels of armed men trained to kill, AND WHO ARE ALL AFRAID OF YOU, left me screwed up for a good few days. Did I give in to drugs ,..? NO.

I got caught in a current swimming off Durban , SA, off the Indian Ocean, getting caught in shark nets at 01:00 AM, and almost drowned,... did I give in to drugs? NO.

I have lived long (enough) to appreciate exactly what life is, and not have it slowly sipped away from you and all that love you simply because you are weak or spoiled and not strong enough to fight a damn childish desire to "find out" what drugs are like.

I will not be painted as a "yeah myan take some a this ****" , highschool, "drugs are cool" guy.

I WILL not stand for any such crap.

I am Dutch, drugs are old news to me, I do not take heavy notice of references to drugs in a piece of text,..: they do not interest me.

Do I like and use drugs? No and no.

Do I advocate the use of drugs or paint drug users as cool?

I would assume that anyone reading the original posters writing, would see what a loser the guy is.

(quote " I was stinking of ****")

How can you say "Don't post this, you are making drug users out to be cool, and advocating drug use"

HOW can anyone see this guy as cool?

(and no I am not going to say the damn cliche stuff some people on this board use: i.e.

"There must be something wrong with YOU if you see, etc, etc.")

But there will always be impressionable 9 year old kids who would maybe want to: quote "stink of ****", and I do not want to be responsible for starting little children on drugs.

SO I HAVE REMOVED THE POST.

>The story that got posted speaks more of where you are in these issues than the actual story.

I hope now you know where I am,

....the mere volume of text I have just written, should help me get the point across to you.

Edit: Wait a minute, there are wallpapers of naked women (PG) on this forum.

Why shouldn't I post this piece of text? And what 9 year old knows how to edit .jar files in phoenix? ACTUALLY of all the stuff it would seem to me to be a good example of why you should NOT use drugs.

.

post removed, but you people are being over sensitive

Just chill...

and quit jiving' my ass. : )

you'll never make it NINE (9) days without sleeping. Your body just can't take it and you die. That's a fact.

VideoMann thank you for the sincerity in your PM, I believe we were arguing for the same point.

I look forward to reading your posts on any subject in this forum in the future.

In retrospect, it WAS stupid to get all hyper of the snippit from a message board. I still dont think its funny, but its not really that offensive. I was not making any judgements on you, I was complaining about the Post (story thing).

Glitzychiwuawa: You seem to have a very interesting life with many experiences, I on the other hand am not so lucky, so my views can be very one sided sometimes. It just amazes me at all the ignorance in the world (especially the stupid things I tend to do) and the fact that people can say: "oh yeah, people change from drugs, but not me" really amazes me. Especially because 2 or 3 people said it in this thread alone. I guess Aqua-Soft just got the lucky ones. In conclusion, im not really mad at anyone, and especially not at you. :D

I guessed as much,...

Don't worry, I understand that the replies I got were more to get a point across, ...

"don't use drugs, they are not worth the hassle", rather than anything aimed at me.

I guess my "novel" on the second page was written when I was "agitated". Although, in this thread, I was never labelled a junkie by anyone, it still would get you bustin your chops for retribution wouldn't it?

VideoMann's original reply (together with maybe 1 or 2 others) is probably the only post worth anything in this whole thread.

Don't you think in legalization as posible solution to the problem? I mean, people usually obtain pleasure just thinking their doing something illegal. As well, the legalization of the drugs would decrease the prices and all the problems that VideoMann wrote, such as prostitution, would be eliminated.

I'm not suppoting drugs, I believe in mankind´s fredom, I believe the mankind is developed enough to choose his way. Why can we get drunk and cannot get high? It is a thin line beetwen: legality, a very ambiguos concept. Drugs exist since the mankind exists and will be there forever, why don't eliminate all those taboos and educate the youth... because the freedom turns up when you are able to choose...
