I think talk of drugs is much more offensive than politics and I find nothing particularly funny about this story. It really speaks to the trash mentality of today's youth and how lost they are in their values. It also speaks to their own self destruction showing how stupid they are while trying to show how cool they are which fools no-one that has their head in the right place.

It is better to loose a whole generation than to allow them to continue and pollute, perverse, corrupt, and misguide the next generation into a futureless society with no direction or self-inspiration to improve. Rather than to stand up and say "this guy is really lost" it gets posted as funny story and accepted as normal behaviour. Sorry but you really have a twisted mind in these matters. I don't subscribe to the show mentality of the "Springer Show" where they bring people to talk about shocking personal problems and to trash each other (which by the way some shows are staged or participants are coached and encouraged to shock). It seems that unruly behaviour is accepted as normal by the generation of 15-25yr old here.

The story that got posted speaks more of where you are in these issues than the actual story. What part of the punctuation or space is the one that makes this story so important ? I think it is the deplorable mentality of how quickly today's youth becomes the trash of society. Since when punctuation and space become the most important issue in internet Forums rather than the content of what they type.

If you are doing drugs you are not cool ( I don't mean you=Glitzychiwuawa but whoever reads this), but simply an idiot that got lost in what is and is not important in life. If you are doing drugs you are simply in the path to become a looser, part of the lowest human being in society. If you are doing drugs you have become part of the problem of society and are responsible for 70% of all thievery, 60% of all homicide, 40% of the nations health care cost, 80% of the prison over-population, and the cost of these type of trash behaviour to society goes on and on.

If you are doing drugs you are your country's worst enemy just as mass murderers in governments are to the international community. You are contributing largely to the death of your community at a large level and to the death of babies through the inability to provide health care assistance because it must go to taking care of your addiction. If you are doing drugs you have contributed to the A.I.D.S epidemic that has wiped out whole villages in Africa and will wipe out 25-30% of the African population.

If you are doing drugs you have become part of the problem in Asia that has enslaved whole societies in child prostitution selling 4-5 yr olds for sex in order to buy drugs. If you are doing drugs you are condemning the future of your own kids or your neighbor's kids by poverty and crime.

If you are doing drugs you better get help or you need to be placed in jail for the rest of your life before the rest of society has to pay and put up with the problems and deaths you generate

Doing drugs is not cool. Posting a story about drugs that elevates it to something acceptable or funny is not only stupid but unconscionable and irresponsible.

Sorry, I hope I made it clear why posts of this nature are offensive and a slap on the face to those that work and hope to build a better society for a brighter, healthier future, with moral values. "The road to perdition is paved with good intentions".

Nope, sorry. Drugs are cool, you lose.

(Kidding)

No, I do one drug (Marijuana) And I do not dilute myself in saying any of the common phrases like: "It's relieves stress" or "I only do it at parties"

Truth is, I do it whenever I have nothing better to do, and have some time to kill. Some people just refuse to believe that an altered state of perception can be anything but bad. Some drugs will indeed turn you around in bad ways. But maybe, just maybe, some people don't want to spend their whole lives in the real world, but no one can, or ever will respect that. What a shame. I love the real world, but I think experiencing new things is the most important things we as humans can try to do. I'd rather not waste my life in a linear pattern that there is no escape from, posting on the same BBS every day, wondering what I can do next that may be the least bit fun, or whether I should just get it over with and go to bed.

Most people commit suicide because they're depressed, and a large percentage of depression stems from boredom, linearity, or liminality. Stop watching freevibe commercals and live your life before it's too late.

Primo post, by the way. Very funny, kinda odd, but shows what CM can do to you.

Drugs are in no way humerous at all. Videomann is right in saying that you should get some help if you are on drugs.

Let me tell you how bad Marijuana and "Other recreational drugs are". I am probably much older than you, no I'm sure I'm much older than you (but I won't say). I've seen people that came from Vietnam doing only Marijuana to "kill some time" but the only thing they killed was their future and the future of their families. I've been to parties that pass around all kinds of drugs and seen nothing but bad news for those people 10-15 yrs down the road. I've lived through a time when many of today's drugs (eg. LSD.peyote) were legal because the government and health authorities knew very little about them. Most of these people ended in miserable life situations in a "large part do to drugs" not misfortune. Then there is another segment of these recreational users that have deep emotional problems that slowly creep up due to changes in brain chemistry and in some cases in physical brain damage.

Marijuana has effects similar to alcohol but the chemistry change in the brain goes on for years and will contribute to psychological problems or a further yearning for harder drugs. If smoking (polluting your lungs with soot and untold carcinogens and pesticides) is bad for you at the very least anything you burn and inhale is just as bad. There are no good recreational drugs.

Perhaps you should volunteer to work at a local city hospital in their psychiatric ward and see the types of patients there and how many had drug histories. Maybe you should dig a book and apply yourself and become a doctor and do rounds in a hospital so that you can see brain scans of recreational drug users such as methamphetamines or other drugs as Ecstasy.

Maybe you should talk to people that keep telling you they are just fine and happy eventhough they can barely walk, go to the bathroom at 18-23 yrs of age, due to brain changes as a direct cause of recreational drug use (I'm not talking about hard drugs either).

There are no fun drugs. There is no such thing as recreational drugs. There is no such thing as a safe drug. Some drugs will have permanent brain changes from only one use at the chemical level that is not detected at the physical level.

If you are bored engage in being more active with life in a constructive manner rather than in a destructive way. Pick up a book and read (80% of young people don't know 90% of the countries of the world). Get involve with life in worthwhile causes, or in sports. If drugs is the solution you pick for boredom it means you are not using much of your brain to embrace life.

Experimenting with drugs is not learning and experiencing life to the fullest but experiencing and entrance to problems and eventual death. This is what I meant with "Perdition is paved with good intentions".

I am so sick of Potheads? Is anyone else? You have to realize even Marijuana screws up your life. My sister was a pothead and she ended up becoming a drunk, and then going to harder stuff. All because she wanted a "little Happiness". Shes in Jail now, so you really shouldnt think of ANY drug so lightheartidly. What you dont seem to realize is that it causes serious brain damage. It permanantly stops the growth of the front of the brain, which is used for ethics and common sense. It also makes you dumb, my friend, as we can see here. This is directed towards SailorBob. If your bored, read, paint, do something constructive.

I dont think that post was meant to be serious, and its not funny either.

Another thing, using drugs actually makes you more depressed as it stops the body from naturally producing Endorphans, so you cant get happy without drugs.

:D

#12360

Hmm.. personally, I didn't fiind that funny. But then, I didnt find "How High" or "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" funny either.

You might, but I dont.

#12377

sure, yeah. burn out your serotonin and be depressed for the rest of your life.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

Seoronin is produced naturally in the body despite what chemicals you put into it (Minus cocaine and heroin).

Regarding so called "potheads"

I know a few, and they are very boring indeed, but that is (again) a classic example of failing to control a drug. I smoke marijuana frequently, and act no differently now than I did years ago (minus gaining maturity and knowledge). People that lose who they are over a drug are exactly what I was referring to. If you let it happen, you lost, and never should have started to begin with. People beleive too much TV, and fall into nasty patterns.

#12392

Um, you know pot causes memory loss, right? I dont know you, so i cant say for sure that you act differently now, but everyone I know who starts smoking (even a little bit) very quickly changes and becomes a doorstop. You gotta open your eyes, man, what makes you think every person is wrong when it comes to Drugs, and you,the pothead, are right?

#12395

Oh geezzz - Alcohol is one of the worst drugs there is. I would agree it is THE worst.

I heard if you drive an SUV you are contibuting to terrorists - lol!

#12399

I dont think Alcohol is THE worst drug, but its the most rampant and abused. Very bad stuff.

And alcoholism is hereditary, do you really want to give it to your kids?

And im sure some of you do, so no need to point that out. Kidding.

On a Lighter note, whats the deal with pants?

No one should ever start it anyways first of all. You really can't say you don't act differently than you used it. People change all the time, and they don't realize it. Ever had a friend that used to be someone, and started doing something and then they changed? Same idea...you saw the change, other people saw the change, but the person who changed more than likely didn't. Or another example...let's say you have a hobby or something. Let's say it's a sport. You practice every day, you do it everyday. Most of the time you will think that you aren't getting better, but in reality, your standards are just rising, so you have actually gotten better, you just don't realize it. Same thing I think happens with some people about other things. They start doing something, and their standards start to actually lower a little, so they think "Hey...nothin's wrong here!"

Because I have a lot more experience in drug-related matters than you. That's a guarantee. I've seen things you wouldn't beleive from people I thought I knew. Also, suggesting I have lacking memory or am slowly becoming a pothead is very insulting to me. It's like saying everyone who drinks is a vomiting, dumbassed, stumbling alcoholic; or that all Black people are pimps who say "Bling bling" and "kick it" with their "homies". Stereotypes are stereotypes.

Continuing on:

My short-term memory has been poor since I was a kid, pot has nothing to do with it. My long term memory, however, is excellent. Some people are just born that way. My overall point is: Not everyone is irresponsible. I've been able to hold down a demanding job, go to college, and manage a girlfriend, all while finding time to enjoy my drug of choice. If you plan to continue stereotyping and typecasting everyone you meet, I have no more use for you. Those who discriminate never win.

#12410

I know a guy who smokes a lot of pot and got his pilot's license and now flys helicopters and twin engine planes.

Alcohol destroys other peoples lives (auto accidents) - yet it's still legal - of course not to drive though. I don't take drugs or alcohol, but I think some drugs are less destructive than alcohol. Alcohol impares motor ability more than most drugs. Pot will mellow most people out and laugh at things. Alcohol tends to create belligerent, combative fools.

#12415

The difference between Alcohol and illegal drugs is that if you have one drink, you most likely wont be impared at all. Drugs on the other hand will ALWAYS impair you.

Im sure not everyones lives are ruined from drugs, but I know I need every braincell I got and my memories bad too, so I dont need something else hurting it. Why destroy your body unless your really depressed, which im not. I think theres something deep down thats hurting you.

But thank you SailorBob, youve made me feel better about myself. :D

#12429

@ contrasutra: have you ever done marijuana? if not you don't know how nice it is, it's 10 times better than alcohol for some ppl and some ppl don't like it!

I say leegalise it

Peace

#12435

Am i arguing whether its enjoyable or not? Plenty of things that are bad for you feel good. Im kind of a KFC nut.

If your comfortable hurting your body for a little pleasure, fine, its your choice.

I know I'll never do any drugs after seeing what happened to my sister.

#12438

sorry did't meen it bad, but i don't see marijuana as a drug, i'm in full jobb and soon done whit the school. i know ppl who don't do it who ar e slower than me , mybee it just me

Peace

#12440

Well, its a drug, thats not a debate. Tobacco is a drug, but its obviously not as bad, and is legal.

I wouldnt want a pothead working for me.

#12443

i see, but i think alcohol is the strongest drug becuse it maybe let you do somethin you don't would done if you don't was drounk

BTW: i know many ppl like you, so i do respect you ;)

Peace

#12446

If you don't see marijuana as a drug then you don't know what drugs are. Let's see what qualifies you to make the statement what is and is not a drug ? Being a drug user only qualifies you to demonstrate what poor judgement you have. Marijuana is a drug and so is tobacco and alcohol but simply because we already have 2 legal drugs doesn't mean we need a single more drug. If you are using drugs because it feels good then you lack maturity and or probably have other psychological needs that you are not facing up to. Those psychological needs could be deep rooted or simple things like lack of self-respect, loneliness, disappointments, or depressed feelings.

The cost in healthcare alone due to tobacco and alcohol abuse is paid by everyone from your mother to your next door neighbor, so what you do to your body matters to all if it impacts your health which we all end up paying for you down the line.

The consequences of what you do illegaly and sometime legaly like the stunts of "JackASS" are paid by you and me. Growing up doesn't mean you have a license to do what you want with yourself. Growing up means making the right decisions in life to be a productive member of society and to your family. Doing drugs of any form is a sign of immaturity and a burden that we all pay for.

When you babysit a 4 year old child, you look that he doesn't play by the pool, or get to play by the kitchen, or touch heavy objects because he may drown, get burn, or get hurt. Those are decisions that the 4 yr old cannot make because he is only concerned with immediate gratification and self discovery. You as an 18-28yr old are just as immature as the 4yr old because at your age the dangers to you are different but the decisions you make are the same. The dangers for you is to assume responsibility to improve yourself, help others, and be a productive and positive force for all. The dangers for you is to recognize that drugs although they may feel good are bad for you with serious consequences to you and all of us. The dangers for you is to chart your course as an individual rather than to emulate the behavior of your friends that are choosing destructive and negative behavior. That is the meaning of maturity. Until you cannot recognize and accept those dangers and choose the correct behavior ,you have not grown up and are not much different than the 4 yr. old.

We are not in this life to live life to the fullest with no responsibility or to abuse ourselves for pleasure. We are here in this life to see our imperfections and work to overcome them. We are here in this life to help others overcome their imperfections when we can. We are here in this life to learn about good and evil, or good and bad and make the right decisions so we can move to the next level of existance, where we will be shown not only our errors but also pay for them in a very pointed and personal way that is unescapable.

Good grief!

You lot should know by now that arguing the point on pros/cons of drugs is like having a debate on the gun laws in the US and Mac/Pc worship... nothing anyone says will change anyone's mind and that's all there is to it. I smoke, have done drugs, have drank and puked with the best of them. Now I just smoke, which is bad enough, and it's a real pisser to give it up.

I liken the effects of hash to codein tablets. similar sort of effects but no smoke and no nasty after taste. I did get into trouble over it and it wasn't funny at the time. However, I do understand the 'recreational' aspect of it. Getting stoned has a great soothing effect and often gave me a case of the giggles you wouldn't believe. It can be great, it can also be a nightmare. Do I wish I hadn't done it? Not really, it was an interesting experience. Would I do it again? I doudt it these days. Got too much to do.

I don't condone or condemn but I do understand. I also agree with Lynchknot that pot mellows and alkyhol makes you a complete twat (not has exact words I'll grant you). As my T-shirt used to say " Instant arsehole, just add alcohol". I don't recall ever being a vandalising noisy bastard when stoned.
