#12000

Hey flyakite, post a screenshot showing some differences of your shell, please? ^_^

#12002

Damn, sounds good,.. too bad I use 72x72 though.

#12009

have you found a host?

#12033

Okay, well I had forgot to add shell32 to the zip when I compressed it so its final size is 15mb. Before I have anyone host it though, I want to see if anyone has any explorer toolbar skins besides the one Iceman provided. If someone can obtain the default Mac IE toolbar icons then I'll go ahead and make a bitmap up for the toolbar to add to shell32, otherwise I'm just going to go ahead and use the bitmap Iceman created.

Any custom AVIs that anyone has created for the File Copy animations or Delete File animations would be nice to include also. Any additional EXE or DLL files that anyone would like me to reshack to replace the icons in let me know by then and I'll include them too. I already have two hacked files for Logitech webcams runnining the newest Image Studio 7.3 software as well that I'm including.

If I don't get any alternate IE toolbar bitmaps or AVI files by tomorrow night then I'm going to ZIP it up tomorrow night and go ahead and send it to someone to be hosted.

So anyway if anyone has anything they'd like me to add or you know of certain icons that weren't modified by Iceman that you want included, let me know by tomorrow at midnight.

Thanks,

~Flyakite

Here's the shell32s at a glance. Notice in my screenshot the folder icon crispness compared to that of the folders in the shell32 screenshot of Icemans. Both screenshots were taken by opening the dll in IconWorkshop, capturing the screen and compressing both to jpegs with 65 quality so that the comparison would be equal.

::sigh::

Even tho I am grateful for the work, I just dont understand why noone makes these with 128x128. I have to do everything myself, and it's very time consuming.

Wah!!!

Anyway, thx flyakite

#12048

Lol, actually Duckie, I originally made these all in 128, BUT I only did them in XP color formats and so it only crossed my mind AFTER I was done as to what would happen if Windows needed to access 256 or 16 color versions, so I trashed them. I would have done these in 128 because I know some people use icons that large, but mainly I did this for myself and am just sharing it with those who want it.

I did this for myself because I needed the files to be as up to date as possible, because Icemans files would screw with my system after Windows update and all that, plus they were just huge file sizes. I mean, at 1600x1200 res on a 19" monitor 48x48 is plenty large for me. I like having the screen real estate and not having to scroll down in the My Documents folder because you can only see 3 icons at a time, lol.

Sorry about that though. To make it up to those who want 128x128, the day SP2 is released I'll go ahead and start Res Hacking like crazy to release a set for those of you that go up that high.

realy like the progress avi for file copy ect. that looks like a blue candy cane, no shure who posted it, but i found it here at this forum. I also changed the monitor bmp in the themeui.dll, I used a Emac screen but if some else has a better one that would be great. the wireless network conections in icemans sys files made my wireless connection invisable so I changed mine to a airport icon netshell.dll. Can't think of any thing else at this time.

could you send me the files you al ready have as to check them out :D:D

#12055

Alright well I already have the monitor bitmap in themui.dll changed to a nice Cinema display (much different than Iceman's). I don't have any AVI files yet and although I didn't really look hard here I couldn't find them through looking or through the "Search" feature. If anyone has some please send them to me at "ckite@bradley.edu" and credits will be given in the readme. Or if anyone knows a good program to create basic AVIs in let me know and I'll just make my own using OSX folders and an OSX text file instead of the default one using the XP versions.

Other than that keep letting me know what else to change/include. If I get a lot of suggestions I'll just wait until Friday to have someone host them since I have class Thursday from 4:30 until 9 at night.

#12057

Okay I've replaced the AVIs with the blue candy progress bar. I still need a nice Throbber for Internet Explorer and some Internet Explorer toolbar bitmaps for shell32.dll. I'd use the ones that Digitheater released but they only work well with the brushed visual style and I want something that works for everything.

If you have anything, send it to ckite@bradley.edu.

Thanks,

~Flyakite

Alright I'm officially done with the system files. It comes in at 15.4mb. If anyone would be nice enough to host them contact me at flyakite19@hotmail.com and we'll set something up.

The shell32 file has been updated to include the Sosumu progress bar AVI, the IE 5 Mac toolbar large icons, and the IE Mac Globe throbber. The small icon view toolbar bitmap for IE would not change and I think Iceman had the same problem because it's not changed in his file either. Oh well.

/me refreshes every minute page hoping for a download link

#12244

looks really good can't wait B)

#12280

Info deleted because I can host all 15mb of the files. See below.

#12304

Alright, it turns out I can host all 15mb of the files. Anyone else is more than welcome to host them as well. I don't have a site yet, hopefully soon though so for now I just have this link.

Download the complete zip file here:

http://students.bradley.edu/~ckite/flyakite.zip

Make sure to read the readme! It includes information you should know and contains a step by step system on how to replace your files the EASIEST way possible, instead of renaming everything to .bak and then pasting in.

Edit: Readme is HERE

Enjoy!

#12307

Thanks!

Going to go try them out now ;)

#12317

You forgot to include the readme.

#12318

*lol* I was just returning to post that ;D

#12319

just installed them and have this problem. black squares around buttons

screen.jpg

is just me or how to fix?

#12320

Okay I'm having bitmap problems so I just replaced them with the default windows bitmap images. I know it sucks but right now I don't know what is going on. Even when I replaced it with Iceman there is a problem (as you can see in Roy Boy's photo on the Local Disk folder). So until I figure out how to get it to work properly that is how it has to be. If anyone knows please let me know because I want to fix this problem.

#12321

thanks

:D:D:D

#12323

I think you also forgot alpha transparency on the monitor pic in System Properties -> General.

Also I just noticed the shutdown menu is majorly messed up, and the switch user box is no longer skinned.
