Aqua-Soft Forumsi changed the ua string to Safari, it detects succesfully that I'm a safari user. but for mac account, do we still have to be on mac to join?

i almost registered for a .mac account but it asked me for a credit card number. since i am getting a free trial, is their any way to avoid from giving them my cc#?
