[offtopic]internet Dating

and then we started to talk. It went on for about a month, and then my computer died.

My god   I'm sorry wiz, it's so funny...

About relationships: we are flexible enough to accept them. We need an intermediary that would be more tactile. We just have to develop technology that allows to activate more senses. Eyesight and hearing isn't enough here. Relationship is complete when it engages and consumes all of you ;)

i personally think that you could date someone you met online. i've seen those kind of realtionships both work and fail. its all about communication.

but the online realtionships i've seen work are one's where the 2 in the realtionship do eventually visit each other. there has to be some human contact in there somewhere.

maybe i'm just naive, but you do have to have faith. i mean, you need faith in "normal" realtionships as well. but anyway, that's how i see it.

I've seen it work.

Guy I used to work with. *CLASSIC* computer nerd. And extremely over weight. Made fun of throughout school. Nice guy once you could break his shell. But wasn't exactly mr-outgoing-life-of-the-party.

Met a girl online, many a states & hours away. Talked to her forever, drove out there on the weekends, finally she moved in with him. To my knolwdge they're still together.

(she's a whale too btw)

Neither of them had ever had a relationship before. They were both dying for the feeling of being wanted. I'm sure they both said they "loved" each other before they met.

Fact is, if you say you love someone whom you've never met in person. Or slept with. Or woke up every day next to. Who you've sat around for hours and did absolutely nothing with. You have Noooo clue what love is my dear boy.

Many a well established *real* relationships get torn apart when the couple moves in together. Even when they've lived and dated apart for 4 years, once they move in together it goes sour. You have no clue how a person really is until you are with them every waking hour of the day you're not at work. It is 500% different. You get to know every last thing about them. You can look at them and know exactly what they're thinking.

A in person relationship is a million times different then never seeing or feeling or looking at the person in person. And anyone who thinks it is obviously has not had a real relationship, not putting them down, hoping that one day they will. So they see the obvious errors in their current belief.

btw.. a mod hasn't closed this yet? wtf!?

That's because it's a deep and meaningful discussion Deleted. *Snort*, Nah, I can't say that and keep a straight face.

totally agree with you deleated. until you've shared a bed with someone for actual sleeping and not sex AND have been in the middle of a fight with his family AND he's seen your family yell at each other AND he's seen you have a nervous breakdown AND still wants to be with you, then that's when you truly know love.

#126002

and let me clarify what i said earlier. i was talking about dating, NOT love. to totally different things.

haha you sound like my friend who says

"guys don't love girls. guys love having SEX with girls."

sadly, i believe him

#126396

@swisher59, you really shouldn't.

There is alot more than sex to love for a male, as I'm sure you'll find out.

#126427

Well, true, but if the sex is not good in a relationship, it can really have an effect, on both ends of the relationship.

#126434

thanks. i do have a nice ass. just ask zpodseven. :D

#126729

no but seriously guys. REAL men don't just love their girls for sex. they love them for who they are. good sex is just a bonus. again, just ask zpod. :D

#126731

well riddle me this; why even date a girl if it's not about sex?

i can hang out with my guy friends, not have to take them out, not have to spend money on them, not have to remember their birthdays, not have to listen to them complain/whine about their lives, not have to put up with their argument traps (see also: 'does my ass look fat?' or 'do you think my friend is pretty'), et. al.

the only reason i feel (most)(heterosexual) men put up with the above is for the BOOOOOOTAY :naughty:

sorry if this is flamebait; i outgrew the hopeless romantic stage ages ago.
