PSP is the new PlayStation Portable. Like the Gameboy Advance that has been taking steroids. If rumors are true, the system itself is going to be expensive, but for game developers, liscensing charges are going to be really low, so the games will be cheap.
Let's not forget that the most memorable games from the PSOne will be ported to the PSP.
The media that the PSP will use will be something similar to MiniDisks, a really tiny disc of a 1.5GB Capacity embedded into a case.
Don't be surprised if you see Blank PSPDisks and some sort of connection to "backup" your games... if you know what I mean... ^^

and if you really want something there are ways of getting them..
like say getting a japanese ver and getting a mod chip.. it might cost more but you will be a proud owner of it..
sure the menu comes up in japanese but everntually you'll know what they do..

@d-shade: There are no ModChips for the Japanese PSX yet... Japan isn't a mass producer of ModChips (Games are cheap, so are DVDs... No need for them on that Market), and the US Modchip producers haven't started production of any PSX modchip. It would be useless, because virtually no one will import the PSX to the USA from Japan. Besides, we don't even know what kind of voltage that modchip should work at. It wasn't until the Magic V and DMS3 that the PS2 got a DECENT Modchip for it... Every other modchip eventually made the CDDrive go "Boom". 
not really sure why people are willing to shell out extra money for the same product in a different color and its not like a shirt or shoes. I mean the black ps2 is more than a hundred dollars

When the Dreamcast was still being produced, several limited edition versions came out. Those were really rare, incredibly beautiful and it was held in high regard by many of us Dreamcast fans. Too bad I never had enough money to buy another dreamcast, so I have a standard model... But we all wanted that Resident Evil version, or that Sakura Taisen version...
