The 12,581 Firebird Problem

The flash plugin for Firebird doesn't work (if I come to a page that uses flash, it says click here to ge tthe plugin, etc.) even after installing it numerous times and restarting

So...help? Thx.

When you install flash, it will give you an option of "another program" or "another location" something along those lines.. make sure you go to

C:\program files\mozillafirebird\plugins

Or whatever you Firebird path is.. if you choose that location, it will put the plugin in FireBird's plugin directory. Reload the page, and it should be good to go. The problem is most the firebird installs are merely .zip files, which doesn't create the relative registry entries, so Flash/Shockwave doesn't know the real path to install to.

Ooooooooh the \plugin directory

That's what I was missing, thx

you may also have to download the registry keys from mozilla to get it to work I cant remeber if that was for flash or shockwave but its on the firebird website.
