Thunderbird

I need a little help to migrate from Outlook Express to Thunderbird, changing the way the last one works.

In OE i have only one category (Local Folders) and all my mails from two accounts come to the same "Inbox" wich makes all pretty easy to manage. And i have pointed the mail folders to F:\Docs\E-mail and that's it, the program organizes everything in files. Pretty cool and simple.

Now in Thunderbird i have three categories: Local Folders, User and Wysiwyg. The First seems to be obligatory, the second and the third are the accounts i created. All point to the same folder i created to test it, F:\Docs\TB Mail, but the final result is lame, since i got three identical categories.

How can i make TB works like OE?

EDIT: Thanks for moving, Steve. I saw it too late. :shy:

so this was the solution:

One folder set

Another “most requested feature", this also doesn’t seem to be implemented in the core, I don’t have any use for it personally but being fair I’ll post a workaround for you.

* The “filter” – Ok this is pretty simple, all you have to do is set up a filter for each mail account to send any mail without the words “das(U(*jp)()868)*)juojoj9” (or any other random string of characters) in the subject line to the local folder…not pretty but it works. The one problem with this fix is that to send mail from the local folder you need to select which account is going to send it using the dropdown menu.

is mozilla formed from crackers?

any programmers out there :)

from thunderbird forums

for specific questions like this, its usually easier to find answers at the firebird/thunderbird forums. you may want to test this too, don't blame me if it fubars you right up.
