Alright boys and girls i have a old but trusty laptop that is running windows 98 and i would like to get rid of the way it looks but its only a 133mhz with 40 megs of memory and running object bar and windowblinds kills it so any suggestions im trying out talisman but its running a little slow.

try out some small shells like litestep, bb4win, or bblean. i liked bb4win when i tried it out before. litestep was a little hard to configure at first, but it's not too bad. bblean looks really nice.

I used litestep... however after awhile it kept crashing my xp box randomly... oh well...

although I do use it on my windows ME laptop and it works very well (600 mhz celeron w/ 64 MB RAM) kinda hard to configure and figure out at first, but imho its very good (just not for xp :P )

I tried Litestep, nothing to add that Dreamz and others haven't already... except there are some very nice aqua skins for it... I've never heard of the others being aqua-skinned, but I could be wrong. Try Litestep.

I have lifestep but i had problems with some of the themes that they had if you recommmend one to try please. I hate the look of windows 98.

If you want a good theme for litestep makesure it uses the OTS or OTS2 installer system, this is the recognized format for themes for litestep and is the easiest to install.

Sorry, those files and even Litestep URLs are long since gone from my comp. A little time spent searching plus clicking the 'links' pages on some good sites will put you on the right track. Good luck!!!
