I can't offer any resources, but I commend the effort, keep us (me) up to date because we (I) would love to see this completed! 
Now I'm working on the main toolbar and I found the delete, junk, reply, and other buttons. I really needs the forward images and if it's possible a compose screenshot. I'm also trying to work with compact menu that seems not to work on thunderbird 0.4. Hope someone can help me with the resource so I can make 1:1 skin.
