Well I've just installed it as my first step towards the Mac look but after awhile it slows my system down to a crawl.
My system spec is...
XP1700+
256MB PC2100
MobyDock seems to do the same.
Can anyone help me?

Objectdock Slows Down My System
check the number of handles in TaskManger. i think you mught be one of those few who has memory leak problems with OD. And what OS are you running?

handles? Task manager is empty on startup and how do I fix memory leaks? I've been told about that with a hardware issue I posted at another forum.

Yeh, I am considering more RAM.
But having been told before about this memory leak problem, I'm keen on fixing it if possible cos it may allow ObjectDock to run stable and smooth.
well. look in the process tab, and look for anything that is using a large amount of ram, itll be under the mem usage tab

Hmmm,
iTunes is using 32,000k and IEXPLORE is using 49,000k.
well thats about 1\3 of your ram right there,
Itunes is about right, iexplorer seems a little high though, how many IE windows do you have open.
Solution like I said is to just get more ram, it sounds like everything is fine on the system

IEXPLORE is 40,000k now - 2 windows, both are forums including this one.
I'll get another 256MB and see how things goes - Thanks guys

(P3 933MHz
256MB SDRAM)
Intel 32MB onboard video
Itunes uses 9K
IE no clue, I use firebird (32k)
OD 8k
OD 12K
WB 2K
Samurize x3 1k each
OD runs very smooth on my system, I use the GDI engine, I have the dock size at 40 and magnafication set at 74 narrow mode.
I would say you have some serious memory problems. You must have alot of uneeded tasks running on your PC. I would say you have alot of memory leaks.
I forgot the program for 2K that checks memory leaks. I'll respond when I remember it.
Try using OD with the custom engine.

I tried the custom engine but still doesnt work stable.
I really need a stable dock program cos I love the Mac look and no Mac is complete without a dock!
Hmmm, I don't think it's my lack of RAM...When I scroll through the dock the CPU utilization shoots up to 90% while memory stays very low in the Performance Tab in the Task Manager.

Jim: I have had the same problems as you with Object Dock as far as I have been able to tell its not a memory issue cause I have 768mb of ram and OD only uses up like 10k on my system but it uses about 90% of my processor I have a P4 2.0ghz and that is with nothing else running. I have win xp pro. The only solution I found was to go back to yz cause it uses barelly an memory and barelly any cpu unfortunatlly there is really no way for you to obtain yz unless you search google and get lucky.
Basically my computer and stardock programs don't agree with each other.

I got a hold of yz dock but it doesn't seem to work on win2kpro 
i had the same problem when i got objectdock. Do u have the weather dock on, casue if u do, it will slow your system to the point where its unbarable. It is constantly updating from weather.com and eats up so much (even though its not in the task manager for some reason). If u turn it off (just drag the icon off the dock to the desktop) it will make your system alot faster, trust me it will, lol.

OD works fine for me ever since 0.55 
check that weather docklet, it has known for some bugs. If you still want it, use the version from Judge`s SysStats
