Just read this on PCMag.com that the much awaited update will be released first half of 2004. My question is, although I care about the security of my PC I am not willing to give up the modded effects, Is there a safer way to update without loosing the mods or without having to go through the whole process again???

It's only a guess, but I'd say probably not because SP2 is going to be a major update. Maybe somebody else has more information.
i doubt it, i guess you can just use a program ie. nortorn / zone alarm to secure your pc, but you are loosing precious resources with those progs. So you could either wait, use those progs and wait for someone to come with the updates for are themes. or just update and wait for the updated themes. thats all i can think of, unless someone has already dl'd sp2 and is testing and making the right modifications for "US" but either way, your screwed. DAMN!
It's worth the upgrade, plus it doesn't take long to remod anyway.
Running it now without any probs and everything is modded.
