Nintendo Ds

Is nintendo making the right moves? Are its glory days over? We all can agree that SNES kicked the living poo out of everything. So did NES. So did Gameboy, GBA, and GBA-SP. But then again, who remembers the Virtual Boy? Who wants to sit there for hours straining your back looking into the thing? it was a cool idea in theory...i tried it and i liked it for about 5 minutes...then there is the game and watch system thye made, no one remembers that. i know no one does. lol.

nintendo 64 was a flop. it was great technologically....the idea of sticking with cartridges is debatable but it made it accessible to little kids (nintendo's recent plunge...look at the majority of gamecube games initially). but they lost their 3rd party support here. they could have had final fantasy 7 but decided to screw square. it made the playstation famous among other 3rd party people. name the gamecube 3rd party games that are good and ull be thinking hard...nintendo is all first party. bad move.

anyways, en lu of the recent developments, nintendo plans to release the nintendo DS...a new portable that wont compete with the GBA but rather is geared towards competition with the $400 PSP (which is ridiculous...it wont be ablet o compete with the GBA with that price! it can render 3d! and the next GBA system will have backwards compatibility with Gamecube games!)

what it will have is 2 screens, 1 to view close up shots and 1 to view the entire scheme of things. think of a football game: action view and field view. they COULD go places if properly implemented. lets hope it is. post your thoughts and if you know nething...post it.

PS - i love aqua-soft.org. i modded my desktop perfectly for awhile thanks to you guys. i want to give back.

Can you spell "ridiculous"?

Why would it have two screens - why not just have one and split it, instead of wasting money on dual-screen functions.

Oh, and stop posting rubbish.

In regards to Stevie BM's quote ('Ridiculous'); The Nintendo DS (code-name only) will in fact have two seperate 3" screens. Although the price wasn't stated (I get the Nintendo newsletter being a customer and registered), it did specify a release by late this year.

Although I can't see an effeciant dual-screen portable being that cheap (the GBA-SP was around the same price as a GameCube wasn't it?), but I must admit it'll be an intriguing thing once released. What's the betting if it does well it'll be copied by other competitors? (*Cough*Microsoft*Cough*) ;)

Although the letter didn't address the form of media (whether it be cartridges or minidiscs) or quality of gaming (Slightly above SNES? N64? GC?).

I'd love to see it backlighted for in-the-dark gaming, but aren't there limitations in that? Like it guzzling two AA batteries in

Opinions? (Nintendo fans unite! :canadian:)

(Mind you I probubly got the wrong end of the stick with Stevie's post and this has all been a waste of my time to type.. >.<)

OMG that **** already posted about this, its sooo old?!?!

ITS DRIVIN' ME NUUTZ!

#105213

I reposted it because I thought Stevie didn't believe it and he closed the previous topic, gawd. I did already state that at the very beginning of the post.

Edit: And the fact it wasn't discussed in that thread.

Edit: AND the fact I've yet to see a discussion on it.

Okay, I may have been a little hasty on this one, thanks for pointing that out es.xxi (although you could have just PM'd me) - that's what comes of reading three pointless threads by the same member, and then coming to one which actually, buried in the first post, has a modicum of a topic.

You gotta admit, thought, that the idea of multiple screens for a "portable" is ridiculous!

No probs (sorry for not PMing I'm always a little dubious PMing more well-known members since I have this fixed imagination of them just reading the PM title and then deleting it), I can understand why you closed the thread so soon. ^_^

And...they are unveiling the DS (or so its called now) at E3!!!! WOOT, as the hacker man says. WOOT indeed.
