My personal vote is for the Thief series, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Quake 3 Arena and the original UT (if u remember, there were debates over which was better), Worms Armageddon (awesome gameplay if u get into it), and Final Fantasy 7 for Playstation. those are good. what else?
What Are The Best Mac/pc Games Ever?
Deus Ex
As in the first one. Not 'invisible war'. It was so immersive and well polished. You could read the books and newspapers lying around, you could... Oh just go and buy it! It's out on budget for about £5 now.
Thief is good because of its interactive environment...name one action game where u do stuff like you do in Thief. Gamespot's got my back on this.
Warcraft 3: they just got everything right.
Diablo: started a legacy. it introdcued a lot of new ideas and brought online play through battle.net.
starcraft: why do i need to explain this one?
I guess im a blizzard fan...im scared though because everyone recently left.
"The Secret of Monkey Island" - the funniest game ever made
"Baldur's Gate" - the best RPG ever made
Oh, and the original "Donkey Kong" - pure revolutionary
what about lucas arts game grim fandago? haha....probably not the best game but sure was a classic.
lest we forget descent: freespace 2, my vote as the most underrated game ever. 9.2 by gamespot well deserved...no one wants those kinds of games nemore though. its a tough market ![]()
hi i'm UTplayer...since 2 years
I thing that UnrealTournament is the best, because you must very thinking on every map.
Specialy when U are plaing with Humans ![]()
UT rulezzz :rule:
id love to play UT on my new G5!!! but it doesnt allow me to install it on panther!!!
FFVII w00t
Quake 3
Warcraft
Chrono Trigger

No, no! It may be funny but it doesn't compare with the mighty wit of Discword I and II!
"I've told you before to stop clicking me, so you can't have your cursor now! ...Oh, alright! But don't do it again!"

Discworld was good, but it was really just following on where Monkey Island left off...
That, and Monkey Island's humour was much more "you either get it or you don't" - Discworld was much more "accessibly funny".
Discworld II, whilst good, was far too short to be of any value - I completed it in less than a day.
Tribes 2 and Command & Conquer.

Well yes, I agree.. Mind you I never played past a demo of MI (on an even older machine than my current), so I can't really say much. Under a day? Gaw' the hanging net had me stumpt for quite a while, mind you that was before I'd read more than Reaper Man so I wasn't too aware of the Discworld characters, settings, etc.
It's a shame I can't seem to get DW II to work on XP.. I'd love to play it again.. Odd how DW I works fine though..
For single player, I am going for Max Payne, one of a kind...
For multiplayer, yeah Medal of Honor, so real...

That'd be Deus Ex then...
Spider Solitare. That is the best game my computer can run.
Myth II, whithout a doubt
Final Fantasy VIII and what about C&C Red Alert 1 and 2 :woot:
any game with the words command & conquer or warcraft/starcraft attached to it. they all rock
For PC and MAC:
1) diablo II (lord or destruction).
A D&D world coming to life, well made, immersive, perfect D&D multyplayer gameplay, simply shouts Blizzard (Y).
2) MythII
Another medeval-legendary game that has shockingly real and funny physics, hilarious speech and character roles. The multyplayer game is one of the greatest ever. Another adicting fun game by Bungie.
To be continued (at work
)
Starcraft, WC3, Counter Strike, Half Life....Rainbow 6 Raven Shield.
Out of those Counter Strike was absolutely the best, I dont play it anymore but I used to be reaaly good. If anyone says HALO, ill shoot em!
The best game ever for anything is undoubtedly The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Consequently it was also my first game ever for N64.
lol I was going to post "Halo" but I though it came out for Xbox first and not PC, but how come you'll shoot me?!
Max Payne WAS one of a kind...it introduced bullet time. but still, was it that much of a change?
the original quake brought with it everything you now hold dear in an action game. it defined what an action game would be.
it introduced deathmatch. it introduced good net play. it introduced the idea of a real 3d world. those crazy texans in that tiny little town at ID Software sure know their stuff. they made it possible to bounce a grenade off a wall and into another room...something impossible in earlier games.
quake 3 arena was made for mods...i have no idea why its not more popular than halflife's mods. it had a horrible single player...but ID did not advertise it as a singe player game. its nto meant to be. it introduced mods as being recognized easily by the game. the baseq3 folder allowed people to put skins and maps on their game easily. lets jsut wait for quake 4 (ID said it will use Doom 3's engine (Y) (Y) (Y) )
so too all of you, a good WOOT.
stevie bm, i really like your picture of the monkey. my batman's cool too. and ridiculous was a typo. im in college...i know how to spell :smartass:
