Since Firebird doesn't come with an installer, do we just delete the folder where we unzipped it to uninstall it?
[help] Uninstalling Firebird 0.7
Don't uninstall it!
Firebird is your friend
anyway, thats what you do. you could even delete registry keys but...
Just out of curiosity, why would you want to uninstall Firebird?
And yes, that is what I would do, just deleted the folder.
Don't worry. It's not like I'm getting rid of it for good. It's just that for some screwed up reason, my bookmarks don't appear in the bookmark toolbar. I was using Lynch's SSMilk7 skin and every time I turn the bookmark toolbar on, the lower half of my browser jumps up and down.
I just reinstalled firebird and I'm still getting that problem with the Milk skin. On top of that, my bookmarks don't show up on the toolbar even if I'm using the default skin.
i think the bouncing problem has something to do with the scrollbar(and its associated settings via TBE and the .jar file) that appears underneath your toolbars when you have lots o tabs open. If you can live without the horizontal tab scrollbar which is useless anyways, you can just get rid of it in TBextensions(which i saw you found in another post). At least that's what was happening to me.
The bookmarks problem will occur if you delete the 'Bookmarks Toolbar' folder from you bookmarks listings. There's also a couple of other reasons it might happen, but anyways you can find the solution if you do a search in the firebird forums. (it happened along time ago for me so i can't remember links, or how i fixed it, sorry).
Another important thing, if you want do a fresh start when you are reinstalling, you should also delete your profile settings (the folder in your application settings folder-look at the firebird to safari tutorial if you don't know where that is).
maybe that helps.
Thx for all the help. I just completely wiped all traces of Firebird from my system except for registry and am going through it all again. Hopefully it'll work.
And you need to check that the theme is really compatible with the firebird build too.
Just to let you know, the latest nightlys come with installers.
As an FYI,
If you downloaded the .zip file which does not contain an installer then removing the folder is an alternative.
However, on the Firebird site, there are installers which you can download. In fact, I downloaded and installed a complete installer for version 0.7x.
I could send it to you if you are unable to find it on the website - http://texturizer.net/firebird/download.html .
