[beta] Smoothstripes(black) V0.2

SS(Black) is now in beta testing

I have a beta version available for testing, currently without shellstyles.dll and the smooth versions of the theme finished.

All I need is someone to host it. It's just over 900K so I can mail it but I can't actually host it anywhere (Geocities no longer allows the uplaod of zip files).

Please read the Readme.rtf file before attempting to use it as, being unfinished, it's not working properly yet.

Shark over at AXP is going to host it although I'm happy if people want to mirror it for us.

I'll post the link as soon as I get told it's uploaded, ok.

A few questions:

Is the horizontal scrollbar working for anyone?

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Does anyone know how to fix the control panel selection problem?

Are the tabs OK? Should I use panther ones? Are they the right colour?

Come on people I need you to be picky. The more info you give about the theme the better I can make it.

I personally think the buttons are too bright compared to the rest of the scheme - maybe drop the saturation down by 25%. Also the edges on the buttons still have white pixels showing up which detracts from the smoothness. apart from that great job so far

@Double D: Do you mean brightness as dropping the saturation makes it greyer not darker.

I meant greyer but you could try reducing the brightness - just take that edge of a tiny bit.

I have a problem, on the AquaXP homepage, the text is white but, so is the background. Also in Firebird's address bar the text is white. I think I know how to change this tho...

That ones difficult. The first one you need to change the default text colour in your browser back to black, instead of automatc. Some sites don't pick a text colour when they write the CSS file to save room, this colour becomes the default windows text colour.

The other problem I don't know about because I don't have Firebird.
