I just got a new car.
Here is what it comes with. Cream interior, wooden panels (momo), It's a VVC, has undercar neon's as well.
(just installed the wood and the momo gear stick, as well as the back stop light. Now I'm installing the neon's, hopefully finish it in a few hours.

I'm going to mod it from an F to a TF.
It's a VVC so it'll definately show it's speed as a TF.
Neon's cost me around 130 pounds for a full kit.
I still haven't finished installing though.
Only done the front and back, not the sides.
I want to finish it soon! :'(
MG is MG, but it's owned by Rover now.
It's one of the most desirable models since they were originally rally cars way back when.
BTW. VVC = Turbo (but not as fast)

They are if you switch them on on public roads.
You're allowed to havve them on/in your car, just not to use them in "public" areas.
And I think you can fail your M.O.T. test if you have them on your car (and don't bribe the mechanic ).

Neon's as far as I know are not illegal, just shunned upon.
I've put a switch inside my car so I could switch it off just in case I see the cops lol.
But as for the MOT, NO WAY! Dammit, I'll bribe the guy like hell.!

edit neons arnt illegal if the source of the light isnt visible from the outside of the vehicle. Under car neons are illegal. As far as license plate neons go there legal only if they matech the tial light and what not colors ie: red for the back, yellow on the side, and white in front.

BTW, MG stands for "Morris Garages"....and the marque has a long established racing/rallying/targa history.

Can't you register a name for your license plate? In USA, if you pay extra you can personalize your license plate number and instead of getting a license plater like this:
00234-45
You could get:
Aqua
Best thing is that, then aqua is your registered license for like the next 2 years and no one else can use it. You don't need a stupid number. 
Why aren't Neons legal? And what good would having neon lights under your car do? Under your car you wouldn't be able to see them, would you?
no you cant do that, but sometimes you get people who substitue numbers like
F14R3X (like 1337)
The first letter is the registration date and the rest is the number.
If you're lucky you can get THREE char plates.
e.g. AQU or something like that.
ok, i'm a bit happy since I installed neons under the foot rests, so the area where your feet is glows blue now.
Wednesday they're installing the back break lights, and wiring the under car neons (the neons are on, just no working lol)
