so if RIAA see's you sharing music on Kazaa, it gets your IP from your ISP, uses a trojan to see in your computer, and if the music in question stays there for 24 hrs, then they get ready to sue

if you hold over a 1,000 mp3's it's illegal just because the RIAA got a law passed saying so. They only target these people. It's still illegal to search someones computer for just any file. It has to be over 1,000. Never use Kazaa or anything like it (KMD, Limewire, blah, blah) use a secured privacy p2p like DC++ or IRC.

Soulseek is not bad for most things. Its the most "untarnished" and
high quality i've seen for full collections. You deal with slower downloads sometimes.

first off, i've gotta say i like the icon. what about an anti-mpaa icon as well? ... i got in trouble at my college for sharing a movie on Kazaa, so it's relevant for me at least.
also, as per the 'how you get caught' stuff... they've come to the conclusion that you won't get in trouble for downloading mp3s or whatever, but you will for uploading.
furthermore, at least at my college, people have gotten in trouble for using BitTorrent... not by the college itself, but the RIAA/MPAA acting through it. apparently, torrents from SuprNova aren't (completely) safe.
and finally, try using alternative p2p clients. soulseek is my favorite, but i don't think it'll stay secure for long. the only reason that it's probably not drawing attention is that most of the music on it is obscure things, not the very-popular stuff that people are getting sued for. overnet, emule, stuff like that are what you should be using. and if you've got copyrighted material from Kazaa, you should probably not share it.

Kazaa Lite K++ has gone to sh*t. I was part of that forum/community back when it was flourishing and such. And for the ppl who use it and turn off sharing, your the ppl contributing the downfall of kazaa among other things. And with ppl not being able to get a list of your shared file and an IP blocker you should be safe for most part. But Kazaa sux because all there is fake mp3 and everything has viruses pretty much. Right now you might want to go to the K-Lite boards and check out K-Lite 2.6. There trying to make it exactly Kazaa Lite K++ 2.4.3 but using the 2.6 core instead of the old 2.1 core or whatever. Because soon version 2.4.3 wont be able to connect to kazaa because of how supernodes work so if you plan to keep using kazaa trying out this K-Lite 2.6 might be the best solution. Its in deep beta and gets better every week, there are bugs. But its developlment is going on steadily currently.
