Functionality Suggestions

Hey Jeff, it would be great if there was an option to have the dock NOT autohid but still be able to be accessed by moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen when you have a program open. I like the way the dock looks on my desktop when there are no programs open or they are minimized. Although it would still be nice to be able to access it when you have something fullscreen open by moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen. I feel when it's autohid, it take away the effect of going from small to magnified when it's already showing.. Thanks!

I second that. This program is great but that would make it even better. For an example of this, see the way YZ Dock works. It can be pasted to the desktop but when you open a browser or other program, it can still be accessed by hitting the bottom of the screen. It also has an option to adjust how long the dock will be visible for after the mouse is moved away from it.

I would like to add those above, and these 2:

1.) A function to close running apps from the dock.

2.) When I have IE running and I click on the IE icon on the dock, I want it to open a new window, not open the allready running windows, coz I can open the allready running windows from the dock taskbar. This also applies to the My Computer and any folder.

Close running apps from the dock is the only reason I still keep the taskbar running and have a shortcut (in the dock) to the Task Manager. If a program crashes or you just want to close IE explorer or just win explorer windows your forced to open them and then click the close button. SO...

In addtion to what you have already mentioned I'd like to see..

1. Close windows from dock

2. Global and local Icon lock

3. E-mail indicator like the trash can (ie shows messages waiting and how many)

I guess there will always be more, but we have to emulate at least the functionaliy of the windows takbar before I, anyway will be able to say goodbye to the taskbar.

erm skyliner, you already can open an new IE when you have an isntance running. instead of single clicking.. why don't you try double clicking it
