What's The Deal With Da One Button Mouse?

I can't even imagine using a mouse with just one button! (and don't get me started on da wheel!) So.. is it that bad? or you dont even notice? Is it better!??

and.. if you get a new one with two buttons? can you use it or the whole system and apps are made for just one sinle  button? Thanks!

the apple mouses suck, but you can swap no problem. scroll wheel works, right click works (same as APPLECONTROL + click).

I have a one button mouse in my pants

#100934

haha wtf >.

#100936

lol, is that a legal procedure?!

5 minute major and a game misconduct.

Nothing wrong with a one buttoned mouse, it just takes time getting used to.

And scroll-button users are just lazy.. <_<

I'm lazy...

But yup, everything needs getting used to... even the Apple keyboard. ;)

There is a difference between lazyness and efficiency.

go to Macmice.com and look at "The Mouse"

It has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel while still looking just like the apple pro mouse.

I use it and it works great! (Y)

"The mouse" looks cool.. and very cheap too!

ps.. i hope they'll make a "natural" apple keyboard too!.. That would be fantastic! (if there isn't one yet..) If theres something M$ is really good at, it's in HID.. -_-

I've heard it "feels" cheaper/tackier, have you used both the official and 'The Mouse' and can tell us if this is true?

And it only takes a second to either use the up/down arrow keys or click on the scroll-bar, it really IS laziness. Even the click-autoscroll I find useless, to be readable it needs to be moving at like 1-2 lines per five seconds which usually ends up and not moving fast enough for how much you are reading and any faster than that the words blur too much to be able to read properly. :6

That mouse looks so sweet. Plus I don't thing using a 2 button mouse with a scroll is being lazier. Why would you want to do more work. I have used a 1 button mouse at my school on the school's G4. It is cool but you realize that you get a lot less work done. Like if you are working it takes much longer in the long run to actually move over to the scroll bar or move your left hand to hit Control + whatever. Sometimes you just want to use your mouse for simple tasks such as those. Using a one button mouse isn't hell though, just slower prodictivity than with a two button scroll mouse. But if I had to choice to have a mac with a one button mouse or my PC with a two button scroll mouse you know the answer.

I am really interested in hearing more about this The Mouse... I am contemplating whether or not to get one.

#101028

btw, is this for Mac only?! Cuz I don't see windows drivers... also, what about the black version?

#101030

I use a one button mouse whenever I go to class as we only have Mac's there and it's not hell to use. It does take a bit getting used to because since the whole mouse is the button you have to hold it by the special areas on the side so you don't always mis click. Once you get used to it you would do fine. It's not bad at all.

However, I still prefer a 2 button + scrollwheel mouse and it has nothing to do with being lazy. I'd get me one for the mac, maybe the one with the scroll sensor. I especially would want one when I am playing games like first person shooters.

At my college there are a couple of Mac's that have 2 button + scrollwheel mice and I noticed though that OS9.2 doesn't support them natively. Both buttons do the same thing and the wheel does nothing.

The one button mouse I truly hate though is the B&W Hockey Puck mouse, what where they thinking?

Yeah scrollwheels are for lazy people, like having faster processors and higher ram. I use a stick and a rock for all my computing needs.

Lazy gits. Let's see you all go back to a time before scroll-buttons and start whining.

Click and drag. Click and drag. It's not that bloody hard. <_<

You start using Paint for your walls and I'll stop using my scrollwheel. Deal? ;)
