[release] Os X Panther (milky)

Well uhoh.. here it is. Finally.

In the beginning I created this mod (if it can be called a modification) for my own personal usage - which means that I havent done anything like this before and most likely wont do ever again. so dont be cross when OS X Milky theme will offend you, insult your dog, blow up your computer or anything like that :)

after some time it seemed too good to stay hidden from the public.. so here it is - your's for the taking :) If there are any bugs (which I havent noticed yet).. then I guess that they just are there!

This theme is a modification of Xero's Panther OS X Aqua theme & CRNI's OBfont is used too. Crni & Xero were kind enough to let me use their work and I thank them for that.

After forcing WB to use this theme your windows should look something like this.

You can download the theme herhhhh' :)

NOTE: YOU NEED CRNI's OBFONT TO USE THIS THEME!

Thanks Timberg! :woot:

Lovely work... and thanks for sharing. :D

Thanks to Xero and Crni as well for the permission!

crni's updating his site. You've got to wait a little for that though. ;)

I could re-upload the font somewhere. Would that be legal?

Nope but thanks. It's back up on CRNI's site.

Only problem is, I'm using WB 4.2, but I can't seem to install/load your skin. WB creates a folder for it and everything, but it doesn't show up in the My Skins list.

That's a shame. If I knew how to fix this problem I would - maybe someone smart enough (with xero's premission) could fix it? Well who knows :)

Ok I got it.

Go to the Windows Blind folder and delete Mac OSX and Mac OS X if you have them, along with the OSXPANTHERMILKY folders. Then go to Windowsblind, and install theme from disk, then go to the OSXPanthermilk.wba

You should then see it in the line up

That didn't work. However, that did give me an idea and it seems to have fixed it.

Timberg's Mac OS X Panther.uis is the same filename as Xero's (well duh since it's a mod), but anyway, it seems WindowBlinds recognizes themes by that .uis, not by folder name. So to fix this, for anyone else who might have the same problem as me:

1) Install OSXPantherMILKY (either double click or use Install skin from disk)

2) Navigate to the \WindowBlinds folder and find the OSXPANTHERMILKY folder and open it

3) Find Mac OS X Panther.uis and rename it to Mac OS X Panther Milky.uis

4) Zip up the OSXPANTHERMILKY folder into a new zip archive

5) Delete OSXPANTHERMILKY folder (but not the zip - duh)

6) Use Install Skin from Disk and open up the newly created zip file

I didn't know that...

The link to crni's site is still down, can anyone tell me where i can get this font from?!?

#113765

@Soniku, crni's site isn't down... So this link doesn't work?

Hmm actually the link to the font is wrong in the first post...

#113766

uhm.. i'm on dialup... and err.. only have 2kb space of hd space left.

So ya.. how about a real screenshot that shows more widgets then just the titlebar? That way I can erm.. free up space to download it. ya.

#113892

The link to the WBA is down, is anyone else having this problem? I notice no one seems to be able to get the font file either.... Just curious. This looks like an excellent skin..

If I remember correctly CRNI's obfont is just a Lucida Grande... I have a bunch of different versions, but I think I figured out which is the right one...

I put it in a rar along with the OS X Milky wba.

Sorry for that broken link. I switched hosts and forgot to change the link. Anyhow.. now it should be ok and I tried it - works perfectly.

Though.. I'd like some advice from our friendly community :P

the thing is that I got myself a whole new pc and when I installed my beloved WB skin the corners of windows dont seem transparent.. they are purple - what could be wrong? Is it because I used windowblinds 4.1 before and now upgraded to 4.2? Advice would be nice :) thank you and everything best to yah'

Isn't that nice, u give us a theme that u made, and now want us to help u after literally screaming at us. U could have asked (i know that u did) and then in ur next post said help or please help.

You didn't need to use big letters, this is a community not a piece of **** where everything revolves around u

Next time, try asking for help a little nicer, its probably because you're in 16 bit, left click, properties, settings and change it to 32 bit, most computers have 16 bit turned on default, and 16 bit cant display transperency.
