Aqua-Soft ForumsTrying to move my Chinese pop MP3 collection over to the iBook.
However the ID3 tags are encoded in either Unicode or GB2312 (probably the latter) and if I copy using FTP, neither the filename nor the ID3 tags are preserved, and show up as random symbols. If I copy using the crossover cable LAN file sharing thing, the file names are fine but the ID3 tags still won't perserve (when I use itunes to view, they are symbols). The only way to get the ID3 to show up in my iBook using itunes is to directly play them over the network with my MP3 on the windows machine being shared by iTunes for Windows.
But iTunes doesn't let you copy other ppl's shared music, only to play them. Is there any way I can copy them over like that maybe that way the ID3 tags will get translated from my Chinese Windows machine to over to Unicode on the Mac.
If that doesn't work im ready to manually rename my tags. Any program on for OSX that allows you to import song names from filename?
Also it would be cool if somebody can tell me how exactly to go typing Chinese by pinyin on OSX works, see attached pic tell me what i have configured wrong.
