For All You iPod Mini Bashers

It's from the MacRumors.com forum. Read it a while, and it may sound as though everyone is complaining about the new iPod minis. In fact, this thread is from January 2001, and the new product that everyone is bashing is in fact the iPod that we have come to know and love. Strange how time changes things, eh? Just food for thought.

Don't you worry- the mini will find it's market soon enough.

While it does, I'll be counting the days until Feb. 16th- the day my mini ships.

This is amazing! I didn't remember this. But now I remember when the ipod first came out, I thought the price was crazy, but the device was cool. Now three years and $450 later (20GB ipod + cases + accessories), well you get the picture.

Heh, I still get a good laugh at the people that complained about the price of the original iPod when it came out.

Little did they realise that the cost of the drives that went into them was about $399 retail. Apple was selling them at a loss.

miniPods don`t compete with iPods, they compete with Rio and flash based players

@ Nephilim - the drives in miniPods cost $499 in retail, so i`m guessing Apple is getting one hell of a deal for them!

i`ll be buying mine in summer (but i still love my 15gig iPod )
