Idea For An Ichat Type Chat Program

I was lookin around and got the idea after lookin at a trillian skin...

Has anyone seen one of the multiple medium chat programs on open source before? If we could find one of those, mess around with it, and change it a bit to look like iChat, that might be easier, and it'd be able to use MSN ICQ AIM Yahoo and all that, no? I am not any programmer (PHP/HTML and other web based languages is all I know...) so I don't really know...but, any input?
