Video Conversion

Okay, I have a sony DCR-IP5 camcorder (MicroMV) and I ripped a 5.5gb video off of it, it comes in the Mpeg-2 that it records in. What I would like to do is convert it to settings similar to the HDTV settings (or PDTV) when TV shows are ripped. I was wondering what app I should use to convert from MPG to AVI with these settings:

Starting with a mpeg-2 (.mpg extension)

What I want to convert it to:

.avi

23.97 frames/sec

LAME --alt-preset-standard audio (VBR) @ 48000 Hz

640x368 about

XviD (Mpeg-4) about 1mbps (VBR if possible)

Any app/guide out there?

on the left side, you'll see in the green section with a link to guides.

it will bring up a search area... in the Format Conversion area, there's a whole bunch of possibilities, but there is one there for mpg to xvid using virtualdub
