Objectdock 0.85 Bug
My Objectdock 0.85 bugs.
Firstly, I must to assert my satisfaction concerning the good job. Obviously, this version is less resource eater. I love the magnification #2.
These bugs are propaged from the earlier versions:
1 The folders icons are not everytime functionally.
Solution: I make a shortcut of these related folders somewhere on the harddisk and I draged its on the dock. Anytimes its work, but is necessary to give a verry short click. The shortcut increase the functionallity with about 10-20%
2 The trash not shows its status (empty / full). Even the trash is full, it appears empty. This problem is perhaps concerning on my WinXP, that is not installed on C:\, but on D:\. Jeff, please take this problem in your attention. Some of us have more than one Windows OS on our machines.
3 When the dock is positioning in the bottom of the screen, is imposible to drag someting in it, meantime a folder is not opened (shown in the 'taskbar' section). This is a minor bug. Firstly I need to open a folder, then I can drag something on / off the dock.
4 Is possible in the future versions to have the trash in the extremly right of the dock, even the running icons are shown in the right part?
I repeat, these bugs are minor and I'm verry satisfied by your work.

Yeah I'm having the same problem Xanthrax is having...
It is impossible to move items around in the dock if there are no folders or apps open....to put it another way something needs to be shown in the dock taskbar and only then can you move items around in the dock...
A nasty bug which needs fixing...
I can't believe no one noticed this before. It's been there since the first release of OD. (But I was too lazy to post about it here 
)
Another weird thing is that my transparency slider and dock background box don't work anymore....the dock background selection box is just empty and the transparency slider just doesn't do anything...

siddharth.. that's worked fine for me.. I think it's something on yer system bro.. anyone else having that problem?
well, on a positive note: mem usage is definetly down with me, from 22k to 13, which is good.
if you want to keep your dock settings when you do a clean install, just rename dockitems.ini and appimages.ini to .bak files and do a custom deinstall. That way you can leave your folders with icons and backgrounds. When you have done a clean install of version 0.85 just delete the dockitems.ini and appimages.ini files that come with the 0.85 version and rename the .bak files to .ini files. All your original dock settings back! 
Thats good news on how to clean install with no loss of past settings. I just keep seeing the same problems croping up again an again. I guess we all have different hardware and such? Here's to .95 and 1.0!!
Even easier,.. just throw the appimages.ini and dockitems.ini
files and the icons folders onto your desktop.
Uninstall the old OD--> Reinstall the new one.
Drag the old files from the desktop back into OD.

hey guys, long time watcher first time poster. i'm having the same problem as Xanthrax and Siddharth... i'm running windows xp pro build 2600 SP1. also, the backgrounds also don't work, and that's quite upsetting. (by backgrounds i mean themes with back- and foregrounds...) Since Stardock isn't even supporting ObjectDock, why don't they release the source to it? i'm sure some people around here could fix these problems right quickly.
oh, and i can't drag new shortcuts onto the bar, i have to add them via Configure ObjectDock >> Add Shortcut.
a side note, these shortcuts pop up on the extreme right of the dock, not in the apps part.
side question, does anyone know how i can add a shortcut to my dial-up connection on the dock? thanks

The Backgrounds Problem:
On Wincustomize, there is a background for download. Install it in the Backgrounds folder.
Now copy the new sub-folder to a new name and replace the background.png. There you are.
Might have to rename something in the *.ini file there for a different name, but hey, it works. Didnt try anything about foregrounds... which brings me to an idea.. what about animated foregrounds? Like Water flowing around???... *sigh*

The new release doesn't have backgrounds in the install file. (or it put's them somewhere very interesting, hmmmm). Install an older version (0.69, 0.70 or 0.75, etc...) and you'll have backgrounds. Then install a newer one 'over the top'.
That's what I did and now I have backgrounds.
Remember to back up your *.ini files.

nono, you misunderstand me. my *backgrounds* i can get to work, but the foregrounds don't. it's upsetting.
