Msn Messenger

Though Im not a M$ fan I do like XP and WMP9 but I am also paranoid. I try to use alternatives to M$ products when I can. My question is: is it the best software to do video/sound IM'ing with. Im lookin for a app to talk with video and sound to people. Ive been usin Skype to do sound but video would be nice. Does messenger do sound? FYI - Im lookin to do this over broadband. Thanx. ;)

MSNMessenger does indeed do video/voice conversations, and it does them decently. Not amazingly, but decently... NetMeeting, I found, was better for this if it was the sole purpose of the conversation.

i agree. netmeeting, i found, is better than msn when using the audio video conversations.

I tried to use netmeeting and it wouldnt connect to anything. I got this when I tried to look @ the Microsoft Internet Directory "The Microsoft Internet Directory service has been superseded by features now provided with MSN Messenger" Is Netmeeting dead?

What if your a PC on a Lan? You need their ISP IP and Local? If so how would I type that? 152.78.99.99: 192.168.XXX.XXX ?

i'm on a school lan, but my friend only puts in my ip to connect to me. give it a shot.

I dont have anyone to try it with now. Does he use your local or school IP?What happens if multiple are using netmeeting? If this is too many questions Ill look around for a better suited fourm/site. :D

she uses my local ip.

i don't think it's possible to use with multiple people, though.

do you want to try netmeeting with me now?

It's possible to NetMeet with multiple people.

They can just keep joining and joinging until your computer dies or you kill your network connection <_<

It's not unknown at my work for us to have 20-person NetMeeting sessions when we're having an important meeting with people in otther offices...

If you're on a LAN - using just a local IP should work (I'd have thought....)
