Please elaborate on "isnt showing up" for us.
It doesnt show up in iTunes, WMP, and when I click on the drive in My Computer, it says
Insert a Disk
ever tested with other cds like data cds? if all other cds failed to show up, it's your cd-rom drive.
I would say that this is a sign of your cd-rom failing to work since i had that problem eons ago.
there are some cds with copy protection. I think there is a way around it. The easiest is to disable autoplay the first time you insert it. Because if you have autoplay on it installs a disabler to the cd. You have to have the right program to run it. Usuall the cd or the case it came in would tell you if it has copy protection or not. Most copyprotection schemes don't affect your computer acknowledging the cd in the drive. Of course it could be your cd drive or drivers
My drive does work with data and other audio CDs. I tried disabling autorun, but it didn't work. Is there a special program I need to read this Cd?
For 1:1 copy I suggest that you try using Clone CD and Clony XXL.
For mp3s
1. get your stere that was able to play the cd, run a line-in cable (from lineout or from the headphone's socket) connect the cable directly to your soundcard. after doing that record whatever you wanted to your pc.
2. when too lazy.. try searching the same album from soulseek, kazaa, winmx, emule/overnet/edonkey
OK, I tried the CD on another computer, and it plays on that one. Whats wrong with my computer?
There isnt nothing wrong with your computer. It's another proof of the fact that all CDROMs and CDs arent compatible. You might try cleaning your ROM's lense.
