Here are a couple desktop remotes I made to provide basic playback control for foobar 2000. You will need desktop X to use these items. If anyone wants to port them to Samurize, please contact me. Download Here!

You could just export this as an application and it would work for everyone.
if only it wasent for desktopX...very nice tho
VERY NICE!!!
Thanks nowhereman.
BTW, can someone tell me the advantages of using foobar? I'm currently very happy with itunes. >.< Thanks. :shy:
I had the same question a few weeks ago.. here's the reasons I switched.
Better sound quality.
much less memory.
ripping, burning & conversion.
highly customizable.
Oooohh...
Thanks again, nowhereman! ![]()
Shall try it out when I have the time... for now is the time to sleep (0452am).
Goodnight to all... and have a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ![]()
@xer0.. I know desktopx has a developer edition or some such tht allows you to export the items as standalone objects without needing DX installed.. unfortunately I can't afford teh huge amounts that stardock wants for it ![]()
@esham.. I will allow anyone who wants to do a port of this to another app to do it. I will even provide the PSD file as long as I am contacted first. So it's open for samurize, winamp, qcd, anything people want it for. as long as I am acknowledged, I'm cool with it.
@ everyone.. thanks ![]()
great job!! very nice
o well forget it just installed desktopX and using it now...noice
when r thier going to make one for Itune(XP)
This is soooooo beautiful! Great thing (Y) Now I have to talk to it nicely and convince it to control iTunes
I recently switched from iTunes to Foobar, and I am in love with it... The masstagger is ingeniously made, the memory usage is so low, its soooo customizable. Although I still use iTunes for my iPod, Foobar will be taking over everything else. (Y)

*Edit : It's not work for me
I use Desktop X 2, I put the object on the desktop, i activate Foobar and the object don't work, what can I do ? (Sorry about my english :shy: )
thanks ![]()
castroman. it could be that foobar is not installed in the default location.
C:\Program Files\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe
if it is not there you will need to edit the paths in the objects to work for your system.
Good news for samurize users.. Crni has ported the remotes to samurize, and has included support for setvol.exe and bezelizer. I have had a look at them and they are great. If you use samurize you can get them from his site here:
My thanks to Crni. Great job!
Is foobar a remote, or is it just a widget in desktop x?
Foobar is a media player www.foobar2000.com
the remotes are desktopx widgets that allow you to control foobar from the desktop. Something that looks better than foobar 2000 and allows control while the foobar window in minimized
