hey guys,
I have the control panel open as a menu in the start menu (which is very convenient) however I don't know how to do the same thing in DesktopX and would like to...the thing is I don't know what link/folder to go or what I should type for that.
Any help on this would be appreciated 
hmm i remember having windows 2000 like that actually hmm i'll let you know when that comes to mind.... 
right click on the start button. Goto properties, and then advanced. In the window you will see Control Panel. Select Display as a menu radio button and click OK.
Btw this is my first post here, alot of you know me from Neowin tho 
no I meant from desktop x...I mean I'd like the control panel to open as a menu when i move my mouse over it on my desktopx dock

...all you have to do is select your object make sure it's object class is set to "Shortcut", > config the shortcut (from either the object properties menu or by right clicking the object and selecting set target) click on the "folder shortcut" radio button, select control panel from the drop down, and check "Open as popup menu".
that'll do it..
oh I didn't even know there were default settings in the drop down menu, lol, thank you so much for your help!
