Msn Messenger On Mac

ever since i've known my girlfriend (and her ibook) her msn has always just randomly signed out. this happens no matter who is signed in, and it doesn't matter if its dial-up or highspeed.

i swear the thing won't stay connected for more than 10 minutes at a time. its 3.5.1 or whatever the newest is (she's gone home for christmas).

sorry, g3 ibook on jaguar (her dad installed panther the other day though, sweeet)

edit: and the point of this post is... anyone else with this problem and/or any fixes? (tried reinstalling).

i read it on one of these Messenger Dedicated sites, a result of the number of ppl complaining. however i do know IE has been discontinued, the reason for that being the awsomness of safari, IE is just not a viable alternative.

Nice!!!!!!, ie sucked anyway, people should use non m$ related progs. Have you tried ichat? or are you using msn messenger prog?

err,not exactly, Ms just thought it better to let apple sink or swim, they had a lisc deal for IE that sorta was violated by Safari. It was MS way of saying

"Ok, hope it works good, as there is no backup plan for your violating deal"

It was a punishment, a "female dog" slap if you will. :6

Safari is nice and all, but not the first to have tabbed surfing (surftabs, an IE based tabbed browser was released in 1999) and is still very much based on Netscape(mozilla) code, why didn't people show this much support before Aol killed Netscape??(question for another day I guess) >.<

All in all Safari is an OK browser, still irratating in some areas, but it will grow into a full browser now that apple has no choice but to make sure it grows into a full fledged browser. Its their responsilbility now to apple users to keep it going, or else Apple users are going to be pissed.

I use OS X, I use safari, but I also find myself using mozilla more then safari and some sites, I even use IE (some sites can't load or look proper in mozilla or safari)

*** Steps off of soapbox ****

Msn messenger has problems which are usually fixed be trashing the prefs. There are alternatives like proteus and fire. One that i'm really keeping an eye on is adium 2.0 . It soon is to implement msn,icq and such. It's still in alpha but it's one hell of a good alpha I suggest you go take a look http://adium.sourceforge.net/
