Does anybody have, or knows anybody that has a spare iPod hard drive :shy: . I am looking on eBay, and there is nothing. A while ago (about mid last summer), I dropped my iPod about chest high onto my driveway and the head must have scratched the plater. I am too poor to buy a new iPod, maybe a year down the road if I am lucky. I don't need anything else except for a hd that comes in the iPod.

Ipod HDs would be really expensive, and you're probably getting a better deal buying them as the whole device from apple. Plus if laptop 2.5" harddrives are so expensive, a 40gb ipod hd would be around $350-500 US. :blink: :blink:

Yeah, I was afraid so. Dang, looks like I will have to buy a new iPod, and this time I am getting the Apple Care plan.

I believe the iPod HDs are a special design by Toshiba. They are a little smaller than laptop drives. I dont think they are personally available. I also remember reading that Apple uses a special partitioning/formatting on them.
