Help!

I picked up a new iBook yesterday. Everything was working great until this morning. I can't get applications to take precedence over the finder. In other words, when I have an open application window on my desktop I can't make it active. No matter how many times I click on it, it jumps right back to the finder. To complicate matters further, I can't restart or shut down my iBook. I've tried the power button and the restart/shut down command from the apple menu with no luck.

to shut down, hold the power button till it shuts down.

for that app, try force quitting and seeing if you have the same problem afterwards.

Thanks, Bro! Holding down the power button for about 5 seconds worked. I haven't had the problem again.
