[help] Desktop Icons

Hey There

I've recently installed a Bluetooth adaptor in my PC, and it's placed a great ugly icon on my desktop. I've been looking for a way to get rid of it, but can't find one. I've had a look in Tweak XP, but there doesn't seem to be any info or help in there.

Is there a registry value I could change?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

well if u hv any experience in using regedit would usually help.

find the prog that put the icon on the dtop and delet it`s reg entry (JUST IN CASE U DON`T USE IT, and after uninstalling it!)

but be very carefull with regedit - it could ruin ur OS -_-

I also recently installed a bluetooth adaptor. To get rid of the bluetooth icon on your desktop use Tweakui from microsoft.

I'm interested in to what kind of icon it is... is it a shortcut or what? sorry if i'm being really stupid... ( )

It's kind of attached to the program. Strange really. You cannot actually run "My Bluetooth Places" if you have removed the icon - it just doesn't work. Similar to the recycle bin in the way that you can't remove it easily though.

I remved the icon from the desktop using Tweakui and I really like it without the ugly ass icon there. Here's my question though.. How do you put 'My Bluetooth Places' onto Mobydock? I have tried through shortcuts, i've tried registry keys, but I can't quite get it right. I dont even know if MD DX .87 supports registry keys anymore. I have the pretty icon and I want to link something to it. Does anyone have any advice

Yay, i figured it out. Copy the "system folder" icon from windows explorer. It will create a shortcut with the 'My bluetooth places' registry key. It didnt take that long to figure out, but it bugged me when i was working today.
