Article About Us!

Hey guys,

Browsing around, I found this article from lowendmac about US and the Apps we make here. They pretty much support it :lol: and although its over a year old I think the points in it are pretty valid. The article focuses on Jef's old AquaApps.

I realise that Apple is trying to help convert users to its platform with their i-applications, so they will probably try to prevent the developers of these "clones" from continuing with their work.

I hope that Apple will leave them alone. I don't think these apps are a threat -- in fact, they might help sell more Macs. If people start to like the OS X interface after using it on their PC, they might be tempted to buy a Mac.

i agree that these apps here would want some people to actually buy a mac. There are many people here that got a mac because of aqua-soft!

Elppa has taken this site down a couple of times (if memory serves right) because of cease and desist orders. The reason why AquaApps cannot be spoken here anymore is because of Elppa. And there was uncertainty if A-S could continue because of the cease and desist order by Elppa.

I disliked Macs once. You just couldn't do much with them. And then I met OS X. I was attracted, but still not moved... Until I saw Aqua Soft. That was the day my life changed. I brought all the modifications I could find to my desktop and created an aqua interface. I fell in love with the Mac. :wub:

Now whenever I look at the G5 in front of me, with it's beautiful aluminium case and sleek flat apple display, I think of how much fun it would be if I wasn't looking through a store window, but holding it in my arms.
