What PC OS Do You Like The Best?
One day...when I feel like making a partition and waiting on a HUGE dload ( I guess I'm just lazy)...I will get Linux! (don't know which distro tho)
fedora is red hat linux.
fedora is basically red hat 10 because before, there was just red hat 9, and now there are red hat enterprise (or whatever its called) and fedora
i`m afraid but i must say that.....None of those i hate The pc`s and they Os !!! oooo God i need an Apple as soon as possible !!
danm this money based World !" y must die with Windows until i find the way to buy a mac.
i have installed in this Box almost all those Os and none of those satisfy my hunger of a Good Operative system ! none !! 
compared to unix and linux xp suckes but my dad still didn't get the time to download me fedora so it is all i have right now.
XP works perfectly for what I use it for.

windows 3.5 for workgroups all the way!!! It never crashed, you could undelete everything, and it was smaller then some pictures i have on my HD (i got for the highres, youd be suprised the tucks and folds you can see 
) Filemanager ruled and you could do almost anything you wanted to the filesystem. Go windows for workgroups!!

the best ** Microsoft** OS for PC ever made 
(don't start sayin blah blah 2k3 isn't for workstation because i know that, but it works better than xp as a workstation in my tests)

I added "Windows Server 2003", "Mac OS X", and "Mac OS Classic" (yeah, I know OSes 1-9 were all different in their own ways, but let's just leave it at those).

And for anyone who wants to argue with adding Mac OS Classic/X - need I remind you that PC stands for "Personal Computer". Don't use it as a synonym for "IBM-Compatible" PC (even if IBM do make PPC chips now 
).

I use XP modded to look like OSX (of course!) but my OS of choice was Be. It was simple, elegant and responsive. Heck if it was easily themeable, I might still be using it, lack of software be damned. But it did lack software outside the core OS. Those of you looking for a toy might want to look up the freeware Free BeOS 5 install. You can install it under Windows and try the gorgeous thing out yourself. Considered on its own merits (and outside of theming) Be was defintely my fav overall and I use Macs at work, and Linux and nearly every flavor of windows at home.

well i think win 99 it's called win98 lite, they made it when microsoft was in judge (because of ie monopoly) and lite didn't include internet explorer. i'm not too sure about this story. Anyone ?

Microsoft didn't create Win98lite.
It was created by a completely different company. When 98 was out if the antitrust case WAS going on, it was in the very very very early stages.
but yes, 98lite removed internet explorer, along with quite a few other useless features. After 98lite they couldn't figure out how to do it to things like 2k and XP

No, but that's one of the qualms I've always had with popular naming conventions of things - people say "Mac" or "PC", which, in effect, can mean "Mac" or "Mac".
And when they talk about PCs, what they mean is "x86 or Windows PCs" (assuming the two aren't mutually inclusive (i.e. you can run Windows on a non-x86 architecture).
The problem, of course, is that "PC" is the most commonly understood simple term for "not a Mac", so that's what people use. I'm just a bit of stickler for accuracy, is all

"Mac" or "Macintosh" is a product line, not a type of computer.
What happens if I have a powerbook or iBook? They're not macs, but they still have PPC processors and support Apple w/ OSX.

I guess it's not in the best of taste to flame on Christmas Eve but that has to be one of the lamest comments I've ever heard. Mac OS, Windows and Linux all offer stable operating systems. If you have a problem with any of them, trust me.....it's you, not the operating system.
