Recycle Bin

i forget how to remove the recycle bin from the desktop, i believe you have to change something in the registry....am i even close? and what do you have to change. well thanks

Have you tried using Microsoft's Powertoys? In particular, look at TweakUI, which lets you customise loads of little features of Windows that are usually done via registry hacks.

run -> gpedit.msc -> User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Desktop

Enable "Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop"

No extra software or apps to install..

no, xp home does not have gpedit.

Double-click on the attached file. It will create an option in you folder options (in explorer, click Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > "Show Recycle Bin icon on the desktop".

That .reg file isn't a program - it's just a saved registry key.

It's a native part of Windows' registry functionality.
