Weather Monitor With Icon Supporrt

Hi all,

For many months now I've been seeing OS X snapshots that featured a weather monitor in the taskband that displays a nice icon to represent the current sky conditions and the current temperature.

After searching for a PC comparable program, I have finally found one:

If one looks at the task band in my screen shot, one will see a nice looking icon of the Sun peeking out from behind some clouds and the current temperature.

The program responsible for that is True Launch Bar with the Weather Monitor plugin.

Although it is not yet as sophisticated as OS X's Meteorologist, it is close in function and looks damn nice.

If Object Bar can use standard Window's tool bar items, from some screenshots I've seen here I assume it can, then I don't see what the problem is.

Did you actually try it first before making a statement?

Well, perhaps I can help.

TrueLaunchBar must be installed first before the plugin.

TrueLaunchBar gets added to the taskband like any other tool bar item.

Here are the steps:

1.) Unlock the Taskbar, this is done by right clicking on it and selecting "Lock the Taskbar". It's a toggle.

2.) Right click on the Taskbar to get the menu.

3.) Once the menu is presented select "Toolbars" and then "True Launch Bar"

4.) The True Launch Bar taskbar area will be presented

5.) Right click within the True Launch Bar area and it's menu will be presented.

6.) Select "New" and then "Weather Monitor"

7.) Fill in the Weather Monitor prompt with the requested info and click OK.

At first an icon representing No Info will be displayed. Right click and select "Get Weather Now" and the plugin will connect to the URL specified and retrieve weather data and then display the appropriate icon/temp.

Would someone running Object Bar let me know if the True Launch Bar/Weather Monitor Plugin combination actually works?

I don't know if you are guys are interested but I'm using weatherbug its not fancy all it does is displays the current temp, no icon or anything fancy heres a screenshot

Chip: I already have ported some OSX icons for True Launch Bar Weather Monitor.

I ported the ones from Meteorologist and from another set I found elsewhere.

The text has not been ported though, due to a lack of information on what is expected by the plugin. I did some experiments with different text/number formats that have so far proved not pleasing.

If you'd like them, please let me know and I will send them.
