Help - Sony Cdrw/dvd Combo

Trying to get a Sony CRX300E CDRW/DVD combo to work. It plays DVD's fine, no Burning though, is there something I'm missing here? CDW & Newegg list it as a buy for a Mac, I've read where people have got it to work w/ the Apple's Apps but how?

Sony CRX300E - Christmas gift, Really want to start burning CD's here, don't want to give up my DVD player. I've read that 3rd party CDRW's are hard to find? Wth? Common' Apple, don't tick me off.

Is there any way I can get iTunes and the System to see that its a CDR? In Sys. Profile it reconizes it as a "CDRW/DVD Drive" but then it states "Disk Burning: Not Supported"

Can anybody help a Mac Switcher out?

Cause ya know "Who wants to be downloading drivers on Christmas?"

er....go look for mac specific drivers for it. ill go look for some too.

Hey Juno! Its an old G4 man, picked it up for a small fee, and added some upgrades. Its really nice, I'm bottle-necking like a dog at the ATA & HD. ATA66 and a 5600RPM HD is just sloooooow.

But hey, I'm learning Unix, the fun way.

As with my situation. . . anybody? Help?

The website Juno directed me to has some information saying that they "got it to work" but how?

Does anybody have a fix or should I deem defeated and return the CDRW for another drive, if so, any advice?
