I just installed winxpsp2 and (as expected) it screws up the themes I previously had... I was wondering if anyone has updated uxtheme.dll file for sp2...
btw, if I get stuck in this default skin for any longer, I'll get the blues... <_<

Are you a Microsoft-sanctioned beta tester, then?
Because if that's not a legally obtained copy of SP2, then this is "warez" chat, and it'll have to be closed.
I'm a legal tester, so I have no problems with posting this link here.
Windows XP SP2 2055 UXTheme.dll
Enjoy.
Edit: Service Packs are released to the public free, therefore they're not warez.
Err as a beta tester arent you not suppose to redistribute?

True, but sp2 isn't out yet so i would count it as warez.
I can not see anyone trying to work on sp2 betas for any mods you might have to hold out till full blown sp2 is out. That could take some time!
why the hell would you want to test SP 2? Its just as crappy as SP 1...are there any real changes?
i dont know what its new changes are, but i know they are actually implementing a real "firewall", hopefully that will be xcellent. hopefully free up some resources from zone alarm.... :\ but thats all i have heard/know

Thanks for that!
By the way... Warez = Illegal pirating of Software, Video, Audio. all copyrighted material that has been cracked (remove Timebomb, cd-key algorith, CD Verification etc...) and then released by a group or iND (iNDEPENDANT) in such a form as Release.name.goes.here.and.format-Group
Service Packs were never cracked (or they didn't required cracking) and never (as far as I know) released by groups! Thus it is strange people consider it as warez... Moreover, the service pack itself is downloaded from Microsoft (the express version)... classing it as warez is saying Microsoft is distributing it which is a little ridiculous. After all, it will be released free sooner or later... right?
Also, Service Pack 2 does hold a lot of real changes! Check : http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/7...cumentation.doc (there's a few hundred pages...)
The firewall is able to serve as replacement for ZoneAlarm too but its functions are very limited thus not recommended...
Lastly, beta testers aren't supposed to redistribute the beta itself... I don't see why a edited version of UxTheme.dll cannot be distributed; it is not the original beta version (that cannot be distributed) and it cannot in anyway emulate the beta!
(Hope I've made things clearer... and saved BOFH from getting sued <_< or pulled out of the beta)

That's not correct.
"Warez" is, as far as Aqua-Soft (and most other sites in the world, and most corporations), any piece or part of software that is distributed without the express permission of the respective owners with the intention of infringing on copyright or privacy of the respective owners. This includes, but is not limited to, cracked DLLs, pre-release software, "pirated" software, and pre-release updates (such as the pre-release versions of OS X Panther, or in fact SP2).
To whit, distribution of the beta of Service Pack 2 is classed as illegal, and anyone posting links to the installation files (or individual files, save for skinning purposes) is directly in violation not only of copyright laws in most "western" countries, but also in violation of the terms of the beta tester EULA.
If you click that you agree to the EULA (or circumvent it and install the software anyway), you are legally bound by it's terms and conditions. If Microsoft chose to sue you, you wouldn't have a cat in hell's chance of winning. As such, Aqua-Soft will not be seen to support this kind of behaviour - we're on shakey legal ground as it is, with the distribution of reshacked DLLs...<_<
I have no objection to people posting links to the hacked uxtheme.dll, but if anyone posts links to installers here (or links to links to installers - I'll be checking links), there'll be hell to pay. :banging:
