Mplayer For Windows

I used the installer and codecs from here. Its pretty cool. I was wondering if others here have played with it. I think there differnt builds also. Maybe a better one? The controls are nice to. Is there a GUI for it? That would be nice from a skinning standpoint.

cygwin.... burk

i like Mplayer but for windows i think there are many players as good as mplayer... so you don't need to port it...

there are many mplayer binaries for windows out there. some need cygwin, some don't. if you want the GUI, look here. it's pre-alpha though, not much of it works.

Looks like the best ive seen. It even has mencoder.

And to end a few arguments, mplayer is BY FAR the most feature rich music player out there.

It can convert any format to any format. It plays more formats than any other player, and its completely open source.

I'll try it out when I boot into Windows.

hayasu. I have seen that GUI. I forgot. Your right, not much of it works. Any downside to using cygwin? Are ones without it faster or use less resources? There have been problems with playing some divx movies though. Looks to be a framerate problem. The movies play tickey. I dont get this problem in the BSD version.

Yes, cygwin is a classic emulator, so its slower than native ports.
