Coverting Firewire To Usb 2.0

Hey guys-

I just got a new Maxtor external 40 GB drive for a relative steal at $100. It has both USB 1.1 and 2.0 support; however, I do not have USB 2.0. I am getting by fine with USB 1.1, although I find the transfer rate annoying at times, particularly when adding music/album art to my iTunes library. I'm trying to find out if anyone knows of an adapter that will convert a Firewire 400 port to a USB 2.0 port. Google searches have so far turned up nothing, so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'd just go to best buy and get a cheap USB 2.0 pci card, or a PCI firewire card. *shrug*

But as for your adapter, i'm sure one exists. There's adapters for everything.. i'd just search the hell out of google

If you can tell me where the PCI slot is on the iBook, then I'd go get one

But thanks....I agree with you, there's usually an adapter for anything. It's just a matter of hunting it down...

I've only ever physically touched an ibook a few times.. so I could be completely wrong. But it has a PCMCIA slot doesn't it? You could always go buy a USB 2.0 PCMCIA card. *shrug*

I tried searching google, that's the best thing I could find..

now that I think about it though.. *PC*MCIA.. sounds kinda PC-ish.. heh

*EDIT: after posting.. i searched google for "ibook pcmcia". Ya it doesn't exist. So i've posted another pointless post. 2 in a row.. i'm on a roll baby!
