Yz Theme Convertion.

how do you convert a Yz toolbar theme which has a PNG format to BMP for the purpose of putting in a shell32.dll bitmap's 214 & 215..

This Bitmap has control over the windows explorer & Internet explorer toolbar!

i want to convert this so ther'es no need for the use of a 3rd party tool such as Yz toolbar!

I have tried it using Abobe Photoshop but it never work!

Does anyone know's about this?? >.<

you must save in 32bit BMP format (with transparency).

Photoshop 7.0 ask that during the "Save as..." process.

Add an Alpha Channel to the .bmp file in Photoshop. (Y)

but can you replace it in reshacker? i remember trying that and getting an error.

Yes you can replace it. But if i remember correctly yz toolbar and shell32.dll toolbar bitmaps are different. The buttons aren't in the same places.

Could be wrong tho.

if so this is gonna be a difficult task? my point is that, since using Yz toolbar , when booting up, there are delays which that Yz toolbar isn't the 1st boot priority.

This is, in my case, that i manually start it. as this yz toolbar shorcut has been p lace in the startup .

huhh!! gotta figure this out!

Thanks Guys!

Can Anybody help anymore? Can seem to find the transparency when saving. :(

i think this is how you do it, but i might be wrong. i'm not on my own computer, so i can't check it. extract the images from y'z toolbar and open them up in photoshop. save them as bitmaps and tick the option for alpha channel.

in reshacker, open up the copy of shell32.dll (you cannot directly edit shell32.dll, so make a copy first and edit that) and replace the bitmaps, i think 204-207. save and replace.

I'd love to help you, drop me a line, b0r3d.

If you replacer won't let you, you can try BATCHMOD to force stuffing the resources in to the .dll and see if it works. :naughty:
