Aqua-Soft Forumswell first open a computer window. next label your hdd Mac OS X and if you have another rename it Mac OS 9. next if you have iconpackager download iceman's icon set that has some icons he made from Iceman's Emulation Page and open iconpackager. set the icon for the primary hdd to the osx hdd icon with a blue mac face on it. next set the mac os 9 hdd icon to the one with a grey mac face and an orange 9. then comes the long part: select ALL of your folders and files on your primary hdd and right click one of them while they are selected. now select properties or get info from the context menu. next check hidden and select not to apply it to subfolders. then all your files/folders will become semitransparent. if you have windows set not to display hidden files/folders or extensions of known file types skip this step. open folder options and go to the view tab and click do not show hidden files or folders and hide extensions for known file types. that will make your files appear to have no extensions like in macs and it also allows you to give them 'fake' extensions such as *.app etc. next close folder options. if all files/folders on your c-drive didn't disapeer hit F5. if it still didn't work repeat the step involving opening folder options. if it still didn't work then your computer is broken. now make folders on your mac os x hdd saying System, System Folder (only make that if you don't have more than one hdd. if you do make it on the disk labled Mac OS 9.), Applications, Applications (Mac OS 9) (the mac os 9 is part of the name but as earlier only make it on your mac os x hdd if you don't have a secondary one), Users, Temporary Items, and Library. well someone did send me a pm but i posted this a long while ago...:woot: well time to finish it. well... install programs into the Applications folder and optionally install some older apps into the Applications (Mac OS 9) folder too. i don't know the directory structure of the system folder of a mac with osx (i myself have a mac with os 8.6 so i know the directory tructure of that and as soon as i get it back (my soon-to-be step brother is borrowing it and he lives in westchester) i will post it. i do know a bit of it off the top of my head, though.) next make a folder in the system folder folder (the one ccalled system folder not system. am i confusing you?:canadian:) called Apple Menu Items. use the old os 8.6 icon that has the apple in it from gillbates's icon set. he said alll have his permission to remirror it so i will put it on my site soon though it will take forever to upload with my crappy 28.8 k modem. i don't have any screenshots at the moment (i have windows xp and fedora and i hardly ever boot into xp) but i will reboot into xp soon and post some. btw it was said you can put some shortcuts for the folders in your hdd but don't do that. it took me a long time trying to turn back on the show the shortcut arrow option i turned off from flyakite's system files and i don't want to turn it back off. well make a new folder in sytem folder called fonts and set the font icon to it. make an empty file called Finderl.finder and make an association in folder option so .finder files open in notepad and have the macintosh computer picture from gillbates's icon set. also make a file called something like Mac.ROM.finder (i saw it on one of the iMacs at school running os 9) and it will make a file with the same icon and no extension. users pf cygwin will be happy to know that the unix touch command (makes an empty file) works with cygwin. to use it open a cygwin shell such as tcsh or bash and type touch . i will continue it in a few minutes (if not tomorrow. it's after midnight in new york.)

I don't think you can assign different icons for the HDs. All HD will use the one same icon.
Someone hasn't heard of linebreaks? 
And the easiest thing to do for "individual" HD icons is create shortcuts on your desktop and just change them on there.

Can be done.
I use Microangelo Ive used it for years its such an easy prog for icons and its got an editor, it adds a control so all you have to do is right click an icon and you can change the icon to anything and it will be replicated in other apps (Y)
Ahhh, forget about Microangelo or regedit....create a 'autorun.inf' file in root directory of desired partition containing this:
[AutoRun]
icon=HD.ico
HD.ico - any icon you want to have here. It has to be in this root dir too. Hide it and .inf file, reboot and voila!

Really? I have many things installed, nothing in Program Files folder and I have no problems. Can you tell me what apps cause problems, I'll stay away from them
I saw a game (long time, can't remember its name...) crashed when not installed in the P.F. folder...

mmm...I got a better idea: we can just add shorcuts for Windows/Program Files/Document and setings, then hide the real folders, rename their shortcuts into System/Applications/Users and change their icons--done! Thus we dont ever need to add sth else into the 'fake' system folder to make it look real. The shortcuts directly go to the real windows system folder how's that?

hey man the icon with the windows logo you have... if you didn't get it from longhorn i can give you a copy of the original ms icon like that (though the alpha channel just isn't well... correct) i am not fond of luna icons, however and i deleted longhorn anyway to make room for fedora.
