Aqua-Soft Forumswell first i would like to say i'm not sure this is the right forum (it looks like the left one to me) well anyway to 'make yourself at home' (yes i am in a joking mood today) first rename my documents to Home and copy all of it's contents to the clipboard (except for 'special' folders such as my pictures and my music.) then once it's renamed and it's contents are copied make a new directory called Documents. right click on it and click properties (or if you're like me and are on a macwintosh (not a spelling error. i'm not sure who made up the name macwintosh but i don't think it's me. if it is then i'm going senile at age 12!) well anyway paste all contents of your newly named 'home' folder to the documents folder. if you want to do it the old-sk00l way (drag-and-drop) then go ahead. it won't make a difference. well now you have your documents folder and your home folder. i'm just guessing at the next step. i know it works but i'm not sure these are the correct names. any mac users correct me if i'm wrong. now take the 'my' off of all folders. (ie. my pictures will be renamed to pictures) do this to all 'my' folders. now that you're done with that then we have to give the documents folder an icon. if you have the enhanced version of iconpackager and/or windows xp then you need no additional software. i forgot the name of a program to do this but it was free although it seemed to crash my mom's system a lot (boy was she mad) i'll post a link if i find it. well i'm sure you now have either a copy of windows xp or a program to do this. if not read on and i'll tell you what you need to do: you need to edit the registry and add an icon to c:\documents and settings\%username%\my documents\dockuments. well those programs mentioned earlier will do it for you. it seems to be complicated (and i edit the registry like 4 times a day!) but you'll get it done. i'll be posting another tutorial on how to make your c drive aqua-ish (as good as i can get it) that requires this. well now anyway back to giving your documents folder an icon: right click on it and use one of the menu items there to change the icon. (if you use windows xp it will be on the customize tab under get info or properties. i'm not sure about iconpackager. if you use the one i forgot the name of it's in the program itself. same with this program i DO NOT reccomend that gives windows 98/98se/me/2000 users icons from xp called xp icons (such a creative name)) then change it to your documents folder icon. after that you're done. please post comments so i can make my hoe folder more mac-like such as left-out items, incorrect names, etc.
EDIT: i know how to make an iMovie project files directory too but the only projects icon i have i didn't extract (i didn't extract a single one lol) but anyway make a folder in your new home directory and this time call it iMovie Projects (i am sure that is the wrong name but if it isn't please tell me so) well the icon was extracted by gillbates so...
