Aqua-Soft ForumsHi guys I am trying to get a notebook webcam that would be of good quality and a reasonable price. I am using wireless connection for my laptop so i would like to know if that would be a problem as far as image quality goes?

Your connection to a network wouldn't matter. It's all about the camera as far as quality. As for tips, I have none.
I've owned one webcam, and it wont work in WindowsXP. I've looked high and low for drivers, none exist. BUT, i can plug it into a linux box and it works just fine. That's irony.
I was reading in Newsweek, Logitech has a new webcam coming out that has sensors in it that keep it focused on you. Say you move a little to the left, the camera is going to rotate so that you are front and center at all times.
The quoted price was $129 USD, not too bad for something that spiffy.

I like Logitech, but the sensors seem a bit, well, weird. I have a Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000, and want the 4000. They're both great.
i have a logitech pro 4000, and its great with windows.
image quality is pretty good for a webcam due to its CCD sensor (most have CMOS). just make sure you get a CCD one.
I've been using my best friend's iSight with Windows with almost no problems now for the last couple of months. Admittedly the audio features don't work, but other than that, it's great (with MSN Messenger, at least).
Compared to my old cheapie webcam, I would recommend buying an iSight without doubt.
I'm getting one of my own once he gets his new PC. 
logitech pro 4000 whit megapixel and ccd sensor it have better quality than others whit the vga sensor, thats the one i have and is very very good in matters of quality. this is actually one of the best in the market is still 100 bucks and is have one year since it first release 
I just got the Quick Cam Zoom from Logitech, it works pretty well.
it was 80 bucks at Best Buy (good thing I got it as a gift!)
Ooo, look at the Quickcam Orbit on logitechs website, it looks pretty slick. Im not sure of the quality but its definately cool enough to check out
I have a Logitech 4000 and a 3com home connect, the 3com kicks the logitech all over. The 3com is one of the best and although you can't get it from 3com anymore, they are still available from a number of sources at about $150. You can also get a set of 3 interchangeable lenses for it. Tele, standard and macro. Works very well in low light and a good clear picture.
I haven't tried the i-sight yet so can't comment. I have tried a good number of others though and they mostly suck. None of them come close to a good camcorder for picture quality and autofocus or lighting adjustments... but you need a bigger budget for that.
And no, wireless isn't a problem at all. I use mine with my lappy all the time over wireless.
